Morning Announcements:

Band chocolate is now $5.00 a box.  Talk to Mr. Rickard if interested.

8th grade girls interested in softball tryouts are today at Kent Stein Park fields 4 and 5.

The Central Middle School Spring Choir Concert will be held on Thursday, May 14th at the Family Life Center at 501 Hwy 61, Muscatine, IA  52761. The Concert will start at 6:00 p.m. Students need to arrive and be seated by 5:45 p.m. Students should dress up and look their best!

Congratulations to the 8th grade who raised the most money during the Footrace Fundraiser held in homeroom the past few weeks!  Thank you to everyone who contributed any money… CMS raised a total of $177.37!!  Way to go Chargers!

Attention SLG members and advisors – This is a reminder of our meeting on Monday, May 18 in room 322 (Mrs. Paul’s room).  Please check-in with your homeroom teacher and then report to the meeting.  Thank you!

A Buy One Get One Free book fair is in the library this week!  This is a great chance to stock up on some new books to read.

Jefferson buddies- get your pass in the library this morning or a sub will be arranged.

All 7th grade book club students – there will be a meeting in the library today after SSR to discuss the Hunger Games coming the following week.

Any 8th grade or high school girl interested in playing softball, tryouts will be on May 11th and 12th from 4-6:30 at Kent Stein Park on fields #4 and 5.  Please contact Coach Kim Davis with any questions at kim.davis@mcsdonline.org or 978-495-2905

Jamie Young, an assistant coach for the 17-time NBA Champion Boston Celtics, will host this 2nd Annual Youth Basketball Academy to support the Erika Kate Hope Alliance.  The mission is to further develop fundamental skills of basketball.  The date for this event will begin July 27th – July 30th 2015.  Times: 9:00 – noon for girls and boys entering 2nd – 5th grades, and 1:00pm – 4:00, for girls and boys entering 6th – 8th grades.  Fees are $75 before May 1st, and $100 after May 1st.  Location for this event is at the PepsiCo Center, Augustana College, 1025 30th street, Rock Island, IL 61201.
