Today is a Gold Day

Thursday Jan. 3rd will be a Purple Day

Band Students:  Due to the shortened schedule there are no regularly scheduled band lessons today.  Band and Orchestra students are reminded to take their instruments home over break.

Starting January 3rd, we will be opening our doors at Central Middle School at 7:30 am.

This is a change from the current time of 7:50 am.  Students who elect to come between 7:30 and 7:50 will be required to go to the cafeteria and are asked to be seated quietly and remain in the cafeteria until 7:50 am.  At that time, they may use the gym or cafeteria.

Breakfast will also be served starting at 7:30 am.

The Central/West musical auditions will take place on January 3rd and 4th at Central Middle School and January 7th and 8th at West Middle School. Students can try out at any location. Auditions will consist of students singing a song of their choice and doing a reading. The reading will be given to students the night of the auditions. Auditions are open to any 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade student. A student only needs to come to one of the nights to audition. Audition times will be posted on Tuesday by the Choir Rooms. Auditions will last approximately 10-15 minutes. You must sign up for an audition time to guarantee an audition spot. Auditions will be after school. More information will be coming soon!

Winterguard – Are you interested in trying out Color Guard?  Well here is your chance if you have watched the marching bands halftime show and thought that tossing and spinning the flags and other equipment looked fun, then this is a great time to try it out.  Winterguard will meet on Thursday afternoons from 4 – 5 pm during the months of November and December in First Baptist Church’s gym – 3003 Mulberry Ave.  Whether you can make it to every session or just a couple we would love for you to join us on November 29th, December 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Winterguard is open to anyone in grades 6th – 12th from beginners to those who already are part of the Color Guard team.  If you have any questions please contact Carolyn Hurlbut at carolyn.hurlbut@mcsdonline.org.
