It is a PURPLE Day

 

Mrs. Rivera’s 8th Grade Gold Day PE Classes will doing the Mile Fitness Test on Monday May 7th instead of Wednesday May 9th. So 8th grade PE come ready on Monday to do your Mile. This is Mrs. Rivera’s 8th Grade PE Classes Only and Mr. Chidester’s 5th Period Gold Day PE Class too.

 

Our MCSD Race for the Schools Committee is pleased to announce; Drake Kulick, former Iowa Hawkeye Fullback and Muscatine High School graduate, (class of 2013) will be the guest starter at the MCSD Races on Saturday. Drake scored the winning touchdown ​for the Iowa Hawkeyes win over Boston College in ​the ​Pinstripe Bowl​

Drake will be at the high school on Saturday to officially start the 1 mile and the 5K races.  He will stick around to visit with the students and maybe even sign a few autographs.

It’s not too late to register for the race.  Late registration will be held at the Muscatine School Board Office at 2900 Mulberry on Friday, May 4 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.   You can also register the morning of the race at MHS, 2705 Cedar Street from 6:30 – 7:45 am. Please note the late registration fees:  5K – adults $25, students $12.50, Muskie Mile – Adults $15, students $7.50.

The weather should be perfect Saturday morning.  We hope you join us!

 

All track athletes need to turn in their uniforms by Friday to either Mr. Youngbauer or Mr. Kulland.

 

Our Buy One, Get One Book Fair has started. Stock up for summer reading at the book fair!

 

The 8th grade Recognition Ceremony will take place on May 30th at 11:30.

 

The Middle School Semi-Formal Spring Fling is Friday, May 11th from 8-11pm in the MHS cafeteria (it may be the gym). Price is $5 at the door. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, as well. This is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.

 

Attention 8th grade students!  If you are 14 years old or will be by June and would like to make some money this summer, please stop by the counselor’s office to pick up information about detasseling.

 

Students: Visit our Lost & Found boxes in 212. Lost & Found items that are not claimed will go to Goodwill of Muscatine at the end of the year.

 

The MHS Cheer Program would like to invite you to tryout for our 2018 Fall Season. Tryouts are the morning of May 5th in the MHS Gym. Tryout packets are available outside the attendance office. PBIS – The cut off date for 4th Quarter PBIS celebration is May 25.  Attendance, grades, and behavior reports will be ran that day to determine if you qualify for an extra incentive on our pool day at the end of the year.
