CMS ANNOUNCEMENTS                Green Day               Thursday, February 9, 2012

Hey CMS 8^th graders – t-shirts are now on sale for $15.00.  Some of the money from these t-shirts will go straight to our graduation funds.  The colors are pink and black.  You will receive the order forms from your homeroom teacher.  The last day to order is Tuesday, February 21.  Please order one!

Attention all Jr. high girls, Thursday during lunch there will be a couple of high school cheerleaders walking around talking to you about the bootcamp they have going on.  Look for them, ask questions about the cheerleading program, see Mrs. Dorris or get information outside of 212

A reminder to all 8th grade orchestra students to report to the orchestra room with your instrument at the start of 2nd period. Thanks!

Sports pictures will take place on Monday, February 13.  Parents should watch for picture packets coming home.  Picture packets are due back by Monday, February 13.

2012 Spot Shot Basketball Competition sponsored by Muscatine Parks and Rec. and the Iowa Park and Rec Association has flyers on the table outside of 212.

Flyers are on the table outside of 212 for any 7^th and 8^th grader interested in an After School Springboard Diving Opportunity.

8th Grade Parent/Student Registration Meeting on February 12th and 13th at Muscatine High School – Registration is at 5:00 pm and meeting will be 5:30 pm- 7:15 pm.  Our goal is to meet with 100% of 8th grade parents and students to create a smooth transition to MHS.

• Keynote speaker on college and career readiness
• breakout sessions to learn about the multiple pathways available at MHS
• Computers available to register for the 2012-2013 school year
• Child care will be provided

Art Contests – CHAMPS logo design, due to Mrs. Fowler and the entries are due by February 15.  Prizes for the top 3 chosen at CMS will be $25.00 gift certificate.  1^st prize wins a family swim pass to Muscatine Aquatic Center.  Contest is with WMS also!  The other art contest is sponsored by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.  Entries due February 24.  You may pick up information about the art contests outside of 212 on the table or from Mrs. Fowler.
