Anyone interested in SLG should see Mrs. Moeller in room 318, Ms. Carey in room 204, or Ms. Acker in room 313 to pick up a form to apply. Students will need to complete the form and have a teacher recommendation turned in today.
Tomorrow is picture retake day. Order forms are in the main office.
Tuesday, October 30th is the CMS Orchestra concert at 6:30pm. Students may wear school appropriate costumes or dress up in nice clothing. 6th & 7th Graders report at 6pm, 8th grade report at 5:45pm.
The Book Fair is here! The Central Book Fair will run through Thursday, October 25 during school hours and during conferences tonight. This year any student who makes a purchase will be entered to win a prize! Parents can shop online at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/centralmiddleschool18
Laney Berry, Debbie Dunsmore, and Pam Joslyn, recipients of the Catherine Miller Explorer Award, would like to share their 2018 travel experiences provided by the Stanley Foundation. The three Muscatine teachers are excited to present their travel adventures, including their understanding and appreciation for other cultures. They will be at the Musser Public Library Room 301 on the following dates.

6th grade teams will meet in the Library Tuesday.
7th, 8th, and Exploratories will meet with parents in the Gym Tuesday.
On Thursday, all conferences will be held in the teachers’ classrooms.
Report cards will be available for teachers to share with parents at conferences.

The Matchmaker – Fall Play 2018! On November 9 and 10 the MHS Drama Department will present The Matchmaker, by Thornton Wilder. In this hit comedy about love, money and the love of money, the question is: will anyone get what their heart desires? Unlikely circumstances and hilarious complications bring surprises at every corner in this play that inspired the musical Hello, Dolly! Both performances are at 7 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door – box office will open at 6:15 pm. Student Activity Passes and MCSD partner passes are accepted. New: We now accept Visa/Mastercard for ticket purchases! Plan now to join us for a fun evening of entertainment!
We have a few extra yearbooks from last year if anyone is interested. They are $16.
From the Athletic Department~ In order for your 7th/8th grade student to participate in a sport, 3 forms will need to be turned in to the Central Middle School Athletic Department/Attendance Office:
1) Central Middle School Athletic Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
2) Concussion Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
3) Iowa Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination form ~ signed my medical licensed professional and parent/guardian, good for 13 months from the date of physical. These can be found online on the Central Middle School site under Activities & Athletics or can be picked up at CMS.
