Congratulations to Colorado School for winning the SCHOOL CHALLENGE and to West & Central who tied for 2nd place and Madison was third. Congratulations to Gabe Sanchez and Tatiana Lopez for Winning the Muskie Mile. Gabe ran a 6:14 mile and Tatiana ran a 6:46 mile. Also Congratulations to the many CMS students and staff that ran the 5-K. Also to those that did the Muskie Challenge ( both the Muskie Mile and the 5-K) and they are Maddy Berry, Dakota Dahlke,Arianna DeAlba, Zander Fry, Abby Yahn, and Mr Zabransky !!! Excellent Job to All OF You and way to represent CMS well !!!! Thank you for supporting our schools
Thursday, May 9th at 6:30pm is the CMS Orchestra Concert & Awards! Students please arrive at 6:00pm. You may wear your “Orch-Dork” Shirt, OR black on bottom & white on top.
Ricochet 3, 8th grade are collecting items again this week for Humane Society such as:
The collection bin is by the main office through Monday, May 13th.
If you missed the girls basketball meeting on Monday, there are copies of the girls basketball open gym schedule located outside the attendance office.
The Muscatine Community YMCA is playing host the Central 6th and 7th Ricochet Groups community service project. A Middle School Fortnite Tournament, with all funds raised going to MCSA will be held on Friday, May 10th from 5-9pm at the YMCA. You can register to play by stopping by the YMCA. The event is $5 to play, only 20 spots left. Everyone can join in the fun to cheer on their favorite player and other activities during the event for $1 or a canned food donation. 8th grade students – High School Show Choir Tryouts will be Wednesday, May 8th after school until 5:00 PM. You only need to sing My Country Tis of Thee, or a song you know well. You will be taught a dance at the audition. For more details, see Mr. Tolle.
Don’t forget those cans for the MCSA food pantry. Bring in those nonperishable items to your ELA teacher and Feed the Hungry.
Do you like to lead, plan, problem-solve, organize, and make decisions? MHS StuCo might be the place for you! 8th-grade students interested in serving on the Muscatine High School Student Council for the 2019-2020 school year need to pick up an application packet in the main office. Application packets are due Wednesday, May 8th by 3:30 to the front office of your perspective school. Packets will then be forwarded to the StuCo advisors. (Read directions carefully!)

The 6th grade Ricochet is holding a Fortnite tournament on Friday, May 10th at the YMCA from 5 to 9pm. We will be fundraising for the MCSA. Everyone is invited to come and watch the event, admission will be a canned food item or $1.“
The 8th Grade Spring Fling Dance, sponsored by the MHS Student Council, will take place Saturday, May 11th from 8-10 pm in the MHS cafeteria. Students will need to bring their IDs and $5 for entrance. This is for 8th grade students only.
Muscatine summer wrestling camp on August 1-2 from 8am-12pm both days in the MHS wrestling room for grades 2-8. Please pick up a flyer outside the attendance office.
Attention 8th grade students! If you are 14 years old or will be by June and would like to make some money this summer, please stop by the counselor’s office to pick up information about detasseling.
6th and 7th grade girls can stop by the attendance office to get information on the Muskie Basketball Camp that will take place in June.
