Cancer awareness bracelets will be sold during the morning program for $2 May 8 through May 19.

 

Are you interested in joining MHS Student Council? Student council packets for incoming freshmen can be picked up in the main office. Packets need to be completed and returned to the main office by Friday, May 12th at 3:30pm. If selected, you will be chosen for an interview; a time and location will be emailed to you at a later date.

 

There will be an eighth grade band sectional today during MTSS/SSR for those not being pulled out by other teachers.

 

Spring Fling 2017 -The Middle School Formal-will take place on Friday,May 12th from 8-10pm at Muscatine High School.$5 Admission at the door and formal attire is recommended. This dance is sponsored by MHS.

 

Congratulations to the 8th graders for winning the April Box Tops Challenge.  Way to go, 8th Graders!

 

Today is the last day for book fair.  Don’t wait till the end of the day!  Come in early and stock up on some good books.

 

Congratulations to Billy Osborne and Julian Galloway for reaching the Sixth Grade Reading Goal of 6,000 Pages.  Way to go, Billy and Julian!

 

Leftover Band Chocolate is available for purchase for $5.00 a box.

 

Students – Lost & Found Coat Rack is nearly full. Please search through it, and find your missing hoodie or coat. All items on the rack at the end of the year will be donated to Muscatine charities. Thank you.

  1. Please dress up and look your best. This is a performance and we want to look and sound our best. Please, no jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or sweatpants.
  2. Show choir will wear jeans, tennis shoes, and their red show choir t-shirts.

If you must leave early from the entire performance, please meet your student outside the building.

Future MHS Parents – MHS Booster Club is looking for a few energetic & committed parents to join us for the 2017/2018 school year! Did you know that the MHS Booster Club represents and supports over 65 high school clubs, activities, and sports? We hold a meeting once a month at the high school & also help with concessions and other great school sponsored activities. It’s a great way to connect, meet new parents & get involved! The fifth annual Muscatine Community School District Race for the Schools – 5K and Muskie Mile fun run will be held on Saturday, May 6th at the Muscatine High School. All students and staff are encouraged to participate. This year, students will receive a 50% discount if they list their school on the registration form. **Special awards will be presented to the business and MCSD School with the greatest participation. Parents, students and staff are encouraged to form a team to represent their school. Adults can list the school they represent on the same line as students, but only the students will receive the discounted fee.**

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges are embarking on our fourth year of expanded summer camps for K-12 students.

These  full-day and half-day camps provide opportunities for creation AND recreation with a variety of topics.  Camps will be hosted at several locations throughout our three-county service area and are designed to connect kids to new STEM skills and new friends.

8th Grade Graduation will be on May 26. The ceremony will take place from 10:30-11:30ish. Following the ceremony, students and parents can take pictures outside the steps and in the grass off 9th Street. After that, lunch will be served from 12:21-12:46 if they want it; otherwise, there will be a celebration for them in the gym until 1:25.
