As flu season approaches, it is very important for us to monitor students that are ill, so that we can take schoolwide precautions. If your child texts you to let you know that he or she is ill, please notify the main office and ask for our nurse. By doing this, we will be able to give your child appropriate medical care, as well as determine our school

wide precautions. Thanks for your understanding and support!

Note from the Principal Office:

Dear Parents,

The school year is already a little beyond half over, and we have truly enjoyed teaching and getting to know your child better this year. Middle school is an exciting and crucial time during an adolescent’s life when they are discovering themselves as individuals and learning their personal preferences in academics, sports, and fine arts. As their teachers we are continuously striving to help your student find balance between the many aspects of their lives. In an effort to prepare our students for success, we are focusing strategies to help build social and employability skills.

That being said, the seventh grade team would like to share our focus and procedures to ensure ready, respectful, and responsible students.  Teachers will be working with students on respectful behaviors such as appropriate classroom participation and respect for authority.  Teachers will be reviewing classroom expectations on Monday, February 8th, to ensure a consistent message is heard by all students.  To reinforce these expectations, teachers will use the following system when a student does not follow the stated expectations.  Students will receive a:

  1. Warning
  2. TDA (Teacher Disciplinary Action, students stay with teacher until 3:45 to discuss poor classroom behavior and/or choices)  and phone call home  – minor write up
  3. Administrative Action – major write up resulting in an after school detention and possibly in-school suspension
  4. If students have continual issues with blurting out, counselors and teachers will be involved to educate the student on appropriate choices.
  5. Parent Meeting with administration/counselors/teachers

The seventh grade team is looking forward to the rest of the year and the opportunity to continue helping our students grow as leaders. Please support us with these expectations.  Please call or email any of the seventh grade teachers with questions or concerns.

Thank you,

7th Grade Teachers
