  • MHS Back-to-School Night – August 17th, 5-7 PM –  Take time to walk your class schedule (available on PowerSchool), visit with staff and friends you haven’t seen throughout the summer, and meet the new MHS Principal, Jared Smith, and new Asst. Principal, Mark Grotelueschen. Please enter through the Main or Commons entrances.
  • Muskie Booster Club Fall Sports Kick-off – Thursday, Aug. 18.  See flyer for details/schedule.  2016 Fall Sports Kick-off Info/Schedule
  • MHS Hall of Honor Nominations being accepted until Sept. 9, 2016.   At this time we are requesting nominees for the Muscatine High School Hall of Honor for the induction class of 2016.  Please submit all nominations along with accompanying material by September 9, 2016 to:

The nomination form can be found at Muscatine High School – Principal’s Office or on the Muscatine High School web site at www.muscatine.k12.ia.us/mhs.  Under “Forms” click on “Hall of Honor Nomination.”  A nominee must be an individual who has achieved distinction in profession, public and/or community services and has had a positive influence on the lives of others.   • Muskie Booster Club Golf Fundraiser – Sunday, Sept. 18 – Geneva Country Club   Muskie Booster Club Golf Fundraiser
  • MHS Student Parking Permit TagsIf your student purchased an MHS Parking Permit, you can pick those up in Student Services – Mrs. Meeker beginning August 15.  Please bring your receipt with you.  If you did not purchase a Parking Permit, you can do so at any time at the Attendance Office. The fee is $25 and you will need to fill out a Parking Permit form which requires a parent signature.
  • New Muskie Day for ALL incoming 9th Grade Students will be on Monday, August 22, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM.  This a day for 9th-grade students only to meet your teachers, go through your schedules — without the other 1100 students.  You will also be able to meet the new MHS Principal, Mr. Jared Smith, and Asst. Principal, Mr. Mark Groteluschen. (Buses will be running on this day.)
  • East Campus Registration Reminder – Reminder to all parents that are registering their students for the East Campus program. East Campus is a part of Muscatine high school and all students registering for East Campus in the fall will need to register as a Muscatine high school student.
  • Recycle the Dress Homecoming 2016 – Young ladies going to prom in Muscatine County can stop by and check out Recycle the Dress Homecoming 2016 onSaturday, August 27, 2016. This event will be held at the Muscatine Recycling Center and Transfer Station, 1000 S. Houser St. Muscatine, Iowa. This event is an opportunity to get a homecoming dress at no cost and is a first come, first serve event. Doors open at 9:00 am and the event ends at noon.  Recycle the Dress is in the 5th year for prom and the 3rd year for homecoming. All dresses are gentle worn and have been donated by generous members of our community. Over 700 young ladies have received dresses from this event. Recycling and being green is the in thing to do!   • CAPE Committee Members Needed!  Parents – If you are interested in being a Cape Committee Chair or Co-Chair, please email Ginger Chatfield at ginger.chatfield@mcsdonline.org  In order to keep CAPE available to our students, the CAPE Chair and Co-Chair positions are very important! These positions manage the various elements of CAPE. (Food, Decorations, Games, Budget, Prizes, Security, Volunteers to name a few.)
  • Yearbooks can be picked up at the Attendance Center throughout the summer.   If you did not order a yearbook but would like one, extra copies are for sale at the Attendance Center on a first come first serve basis for $56.00
