News from the Safety Committee:
The committee is back in action for the school year!
If you have any suggestions to improve safety or need to report a potential safety hazard, please complete a Safety Suggestion form (available from your Building secretary or on the district website). All forms are reviewed by the committee and referred to the appropriate department. As always, any immediate threats to safety should be addressed with your direct supervisor.
A reminder that the district has the right to direct treatment of work comp injuries. If you are injured at work and need to seek medical assistance (other than an emergency), you must call Mercy Occupational Health at 563-263-3921 to get an appointment to be seen. In addition, the accident report packet contains a form called Employers Request for Evaluation and Treatment (it is located on page 4 of the packet). This form must be signed by a supervisor to give Mercy permission to treat our employee. Employees, please take this form with you to your doctor’s appointment.
Also, all injuries must be reported within 24 hours of the incident whether or not you seek medical treatment. In a case of an emergency, please submit the information as soon as possible after receiving treatment.
