Positive Behavior Supports Statement

Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) is a program that will emphasize a school-wide system of support that will include strategies for defining, teaching and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. School developed management plans that span the continuum of positive behavior supports for all students within the school is implemented in areas including classroom and non-classroom settings. The PBS system will improve the link between research-validated practices and environments in which teaching and learning occurs. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining systems of support that improve lifestyle results for all students by making problem behavior less effective, efficient and relevant, and desired behavior more functional.
