WRESTLING and GIRLS BASKETBALL T-shirts and hoodies are available for order. The cost is $14 for t-shirts and $30 for hoodies.  Deadline is November 13th.  kh

 

Congratulations to the 8th grade Basketball Team for its thrilling victory over Davenport Smart Intermediate School here at home last night.  After the score was tied at 2-2, the 8th graders turned up the heat and finished in dominating fashion, 40-7.  Leading the Chargers in scoring were Haley Jarrett, Emmie Smith, and Calie Kellett each with 2 points, Kayla Scholz and Yesenia Love both scored 4 points, Vada Fridley achieved 8 points, and Macey Rogers led the scoring with 18 points.  In the B game, the Chargers started out down 6-0 before roaring back to victory by a score of 14-6.  Leading the CNS Chargers were Skylene Banter with 2 points and Mia Rodriguez and Lily Vela each scoring 6 points.  Our next game is on the road at Bettendorf.  Way to go Chargers!!  Keep up the great work!!

 

Attention CMS students – do you have a special talent?  Can you sing, dance, or play an instrument?  If so – we want you in our annual CMS Talent Show!  This year’s talent show will be held on Friday, Dec. 19th.  There are three opportunities to try-out to be a part of this awesome show.  Try-out’s will be held on:  *Thursday, Nov. 20th after school 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

*Monday, Nov. 24th before school 7:45 – 8:20 a.m.

*Tuesday, Nov. 25th after school 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Students trying out who need music should bring their own music.  Try-out’s will be held in the Little Theater.  Please sign up for a try-out slot in the guidance office.  Thank you!

 

Tuesday, November 14th there will be a field trip to the Putnam Museum for the 7th grade class.  Busses will leave at 8:45 and will return back to Central at 2:45. Students will need to bring a sack lunch or purchase a school bag lunch.

 

The library will be open from 9:00 to 3:30 today and 11:30-3:30 Wednesday.  Buddies homeroom teachers have your passes.

 

The 8th grade Girls’ Basketball team went on the road last night and took on the Davenport Wood Vikings.  The game was very competitive and aggressive.  All the “A team” girls played a vital role in the victory last night.  The final score was 25-24 in favor of the Central Chargers!!  Leading the team were Vada Fridley and Haley Jarrett each with 2 points, Kayla Scholz scored 8 points, and Macey Rogers added 13 points in the Chargers’ victory.  Yesenia Love and Emmie Smith played important roles in stopping the Vikings’ attempted shots and passes.  Congratulations to the Chargers!!

In the “B game,” CMS was led in scoring by Lily Vela, Mia Rodriguez, and Skylar Tumlinson.  All the girls played really well and are continuing to improve with each game.  Our next game will be on Monday, November 10 against Davenport Smart Intermediate School.

 

Mock Trial Participants:  They will have practice after school on Thursday and Friday, November 6th and 7th.
