Softball Parent Meeting: There will be a Softball parent meeting on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 4pm in the MHS Commons. This includes 8th grade parents of girls that anticipate playing softball in the Spring.
There is a jazz band rehearsal tomorrow morning (Thurs. 11/1) at 7:20 A.M.
Attention Band Students: After the end of the school day today we will no longer take late fundraising orders. If you still have an order out you need to get it in today to be accepted.
Winterguard – Are you interested in trying out Color Guard? Well here is your chance if you have watched the marching bands half time show and thought that tossing and spinning the flags and other equipment looked fun, then this is a great time to try it out. Winterguard will meet on Thursday afternoons from 4 – 5 pm during the months of November and December in First Baptist Church’s gym – 3003 Mulberry Ave. Whether you can make it to every session or just a couple we would love for you to join us on November 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th, December 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Winterguard is open to anyone in grades 6th – 12th from beginners to those who already are part of the Color Guard team. Laney Berry, Debbie Dunsmore, and Pam Joslyn, recipients of the Catherine Miller Explorer Award, would like to share their 2018 travel experiences provided by the Stanley Foundation. The three Muscatine teachers are excited to present their travel adventures, including their understanding and appreciation for other cultures. They will be at the Musser Public Library Room 301 on the following dates.

The Matchmaker – Fall Play 2018! On November 9 and 10 the MHS Drama Department will present The Matchmaker, by Thornton Wilder. In this hit comedy about love, money and the love of money, the question is: will anyone get what their heart desires? Unlikely circumstances and hilarious complications bring surprises at every corner in this play that inspired the musical Hello, Dolly! Both performances are at 7 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door – box office will open at 6:15 pm. Student Activity Passes and MCSD partner passes are accepted. New: We now accept Visa/Mastercard for ticket purchases! Plan now to join us for a fun evening of entertainment!
We have a few extra yearbooks from last year if anyone is interested. They are $16.
From the Athletic Department~ In order for your 7th/8th grade student to participate in a sport, 3 forms will need to be turned in to the Central Middle School Athletic Department/Attendance Office:
1) Central Middle School Athletic Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
2) Concussion Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
3) Iowa Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination form ~ signed my medical licensed professional and parent/guardian, good for 13 months from the date of physical. These can be found online on the Central Middle School site under Activities & Athletics or can be picked up at CMS.
