Book Battle team standings:  8th grade Book Geeks are maintaining their lead, the 7th grade Competitive Librarians are ahead in their field, and the Beast Cubbies team is leading the 6th grade battle scoreboard.  Book 2 was due Wed and book 3 is due Feb 1.   

7th grade book club meeting Monday, Jan 23rd at lunch.  The theme is twins so dress alike.  8th grade book club is Tues, Jan 24 and 6th grade is Thurs, Jan 26th.

*7th and 8th grade girls and boys if you are interested in swimming for the Middle School Swim Team sign up in the attendance office. Practices begin Monday, January 30th, 2017. There will be a parent meeting Monday, January 23 at 5:30 at the MHS pool.

*Boys basketball shirt orders are due today.

8th grade students- Are you artistic and like to draw or design? We are looking for you to create a design for the 8th grade class t-shirt.  The design needs to have an image, the year 2017, and some saying that would fit on the front of a t-shirt.  All design entries are due February 10th. Entries can be hand drawn or computer generated. All entries need to be turned in to Ms Arnold in room 206 or emailed to her.  If you have any questions, talk to Ms Arnold.  (keep in announcements for 2 weeks please)

Attention ag students:

There is Ag Impact practice Friday after basketball about 5:15 with Ms Wiebe in Mr Edkins Room- bring your scripts and don’t forget!

For anyone interested in Livestock Judging- there are two practices at the Ag Center on Tuesday. One is right after school (when everyone gets there around 4) until 5:15. The other is 5:15-6:30. Please spread the word and let Wiebe know if you are interested but can’t make it. The next contest is February 12th!

The Muscatine Orchestra Boosters are once again selling Flower Cards through the Flower Gallery in Muscatine.  For $30, you will receive a card that entitles you to 1 bouquet of flowers from The Flower Gallery each month in 2017.  Yes, that means you are getting 12 bouquets for only $30!  Talk to any 7th & 8th grade orchestra student or Ms. Blanchard to get yours!  We will be selling them until we run out.

Parents of swim team athletes – There will be a parent meeting Monday, January 23 at 5:30 at the MHS pool. Volunteers are always needed to assist with timing at the starting blocks.
8th Grade Parent Night (Incoming Freshman for 2017-18) – Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 – 6-7:30PM, MHS Auditorium – Please plan on attending this informational night. Information that will be presented includes testing and testing results (ACT Aspire), rules & expectations, graduation requirements, and Advanced Placement course information.
