Attention 6th and 7th graders,
A new creative arts club is forming over the summer for students to collaborate with their friends by creating music, writing, drawing, etc. The club will start at the beginning of NEXT school year and meet on Saturdays at Musser Library. Details and sign-up forms are in the office. Sign up sheets are due May 19th.
Are you interested in joining MHS Student Council? Student council packets for incoming freshmen can be picked up in the main office. Packets need to be completed and returned to the main office by Friday, May 12th at 3:30pm. If selected, you will be chosen for an interview; a time and location will be emailed to you at a later date.
Spring Fling 2017 -The Middle School Formal-will take place on Friday,May 12th from 8-10 pm at Muscatine High School.$5 Admission at the door and formal attire is recommended. This dance is sponsored by MHS Student Council.
Please come out and join the Muscatine High School baseball program this Friday, May 12th at 5pm for the 3rd Annual Muskie Baseball Hit-A-Thon. All players in the program will be introduced and then they will participate in a homerun derby contest. Fans will also have the opportunity to dunk our new Athletic Director Mike Morgan as well as the Muskies Head Football Coach Jake Mueller. There will also be 35 raffle items ranging from autographed baseball, pictures, and a certificate that will give one lucky winner a burrito for a year from Mami’s Authentic. Food will be provided by Hy-Vee grill. Admission is FREE.
Leftover Band Chocolate is available for purchase for $5.00 a box.
Students – Lost & Found Coat Rack is nearly full. Please search through it, and find your missing hoodie or coat. All items on the rack at the end of the year will be donated to Muscatine charities. Thank you.

Future MHS Parents – MHS Booster Club is looking for a few energetic & committed parents to join us for the 2017/2018 school year! Did you know that the MHS Booster Club represents and supports over 65 high school clubs, activities, and sports? We hold a meeting once a month at the high school & also help with concessions and other great school sponsored activities. It’s a great way to connect, meet new parents & get involved! Eastern Iowa Community Colleges are embarking on our fourth year of expanded summer camps for K-12 students.
These full-day and half-day camps provide opportunities for creation AND recreation with a variety of topics. Camps will be hosted at several locations throughout our three-county service area and are designed to connect kids to new STEM skills and new friends.

8th Grade Graduation will be on May 26. The ceremony will take place from 10:30-11:30ish. Following the ceremony, students and parents can take pictures outside the steps and in the grass off 9th Street. After that, lunch will be served from 12:21-12:46 if they want it; otherwise, there will be a celebration for them in the gym until 1:25.
From the Athletic Department ~ In order for your 7th/8th grade student to practice and participate in a sport, the school will need to have 3 forms turned in to the Central Athletic Department/Attendance Office:
1) Central Middle School Athletic Form – signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
2) Concussion Form – signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
3) Iowa Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination form – signed by medical licensed professional and parent/guardian, good for 13 months from the date of physical
