It’s that time of year again!  Integrated Therapy Specialists, PC is offering a summer Intro to Strength Camp at the high school for incoming 7th and incoming 8th graders.  Coach Hawkins and I are excited to run this camp again after a very successful camp last year!  We will focus on speed and agility drills and body weight exercises to help kids prepare for middle and high school sports and also what they will encounter in the weight room.  Thanks so much!  Don’t hesitate to call with questions or refer any parents my way! Forms are on the table in the attendance office.

If you are going to be in 7th or 8th grade next year and are interested in participating in cross country, football or volleyball next fall, stop into the attendance office to sign up and get more information on what you need to participate.

Any 7th or 8th grade boy interested in cross country there will be a meeting at MHS at the track and field June 6th at 8AM. We will be going for a short run  after the meeting. If you are interested in XC and want more information please  contact Coach Foxen chris.foxen@mcsdonline.org.

For Parent/Teacher Announcements:

Parents,

College 4 Kids as a special offering for the current 8th grade students.  We are asking if any student who is a leader in your class would be interested in volunteering for C4K?  Students could earn 40 silver cord hours during this two week period.  They would be able to add those hours toward their high school hours as a volunteer.  You could send me an email and I would be happy to send them the information or ask the student to contact me at troy.kulland@mcsdonline.org for more information.  Also students can stop down and see me as well.

C4K will be held at Jefferson & Central this year from June 13-24.

I have added the website so all can see what is offered and how they might help with younger students.

New Boundary Look Up Tool Available!

Posted: 15 Mar 2016 08:55 AM PDT

There is now a new “boundary” lookup tool for parents to use for determining which school a certain address “should” attend. It’s very easy and intuitive. (It DOES NOT indicate whether a student should ride the bus or walk.)

http://www.muscatine.k12.ia.us/maps/

Tips:

  • To use it full screen click the “full screen” button in the upper right-hand corner of the map interface.
  • You can use the sprocket icon to choose which “layers” are shown. By default only the district layer is shown, but you can change that to elementary boundaries, middle school etc.
  • When you search an address it will show you which elementary, middle school and high school (only one choice) that address should attend.
  • You can also click the directions and it will use google maps to plot walking or driving directions from the home to the school
