Get Your Rear in Gear (GYRIG) 5K is held in memory of long-time elementary physical education teacher Ellen Fessler to raise awareness of colon cancer. Ellen passed away from colon cancer at the age of 50. In her memory, her husband, Bryan started this event 6 years ago as away to “pay it forward” and to repay the community for all of the support he and their family were given during Ellen’s illness. Over the past 5 years, $62,500 has been donated to Unity Point-Trinity Muscatine!

This year’s event will be on 9-17, at Discovery Park on Cedar Street, start time is 8:30.
