Our very own middle school nurse, Wendy Donald, was recently asked by the National Association of School Nurses to contribute her growing and ongoing list of strategies and recommendations for safe operations of schools during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
During the COVID closure, Wendy has participated in multiple webinars and virtual meetings to consult and collaborate with health care professionals across the state and nation to better understand processes and protocols designed to ensure the safety of staff, students, and the school community at large. Recognizing her work, the State of Maryland recently included Wendy’s list of considerations for schools as Appendix D in their draft “Return to Learn” plan being developed by the State Department of Education. This is certainly a very important contribution to the fields of both school nursing and education.
The district would like to recognize Wendy on this accomplishment and thank her for her continued service and dedication to her profession and to our district. We are truly fortunate to have Wendy’s expertise and guidance as she is a member of the district’s Return to Learn operations subcommittee. Congratulations and thank you, Wendy!
