Muskie Families,

Earlier this year, Governor Reynolds released funds that allowed all districts to apply for a comprehensive security audit.  These audits, once completed, allow our district to apply for grants of up to $50,000 per building. This is happening in school districts statewide and was set up via the Governor’s office to be completed by the end of this year.

Throughout the course of this week, we’ve had visits from Iowa Homeland Security, who have been conducting security audits of our buildings. We know that at places like Muscatine High School, students have been asking questions about our visitors, and we wanted to let you know that this was all planned and everything went extremely well.

The safety and security of our students and staff are a priority, and we’re thankful for the additional resources to make our schools even more secure.

Thank you, and have a great weekend!
