Go Muskies!

 

 

  1. Model UN: We will have Paper Night on Thursday, September 25th from 7:00pm-8:00pm in Ms. Hansen’s room. Bring your computer and research.
  2. Senior Parents – Remember, baby ads for the yearbook are due this Friday, September 26.
  3. Any students interested in joining the MHS Teen Library Committee are encouraged to sign-up in the library or email Mrs. Keltner: keltner@mcsdonline.org. The TLC will meet twice a month during lunch enrichment and will have the opportunity to give suggestions on library books and activities, participate in book clubs and the Iowa High School Battle of the Books, volunteer at local libraries to earn silver cord hours, etc. Our first meeting with Tuesday, October 7th — bring your lunch and a favorite book to the library at 12:15pm!!
  4. Girls Basketball: Open gym this week is Monday (7:00pm-8:30pm) and Thursday (5:30pm-7:00pm) in the main gym.
  5. Urban Explorers Spelunking Club: We will have our first meeting of the year at 7:45am on Friday in Ms. Hansen’s room (133). Topics of discussion include fundraising and our first spelunking trip ever! A light breakfast will accompany our great company. Bring your helmet, headlamp, and an adventurous spirit.
  6. Friday, September 26, 2014 – Soph/Varsity Football game vs. Cedar Rapids Washington. The games will be played at Kingston Stadium (907 15th St SW, Cedar Rapids), with the sophomore kick-off at 5:00 P.M. Go Muskies!
  7. Homecoming Tickets will be on sale until Friday, October 3rd. They are $10 a piece and will be sold before school starting at 7:45am and after school till 3:45pm out of room 205A. They all will also be sold during lunch everyday.
  8. Attention Seniors: Senior March Forms will be available starting Monday, September 22nd out of Room 205A. Cost is $5 and all forms are due by Wednesday, October 1st. Remember you must be a 4th year student with at least 16 credit hours to participate. Please see Mrs. Bobay with questions
  9. Attention Senior Parents Baby ads for the yearbook are due September 26th.
  10. Senior Pictures and a senior saying is due November 14th. This information has been sent to students and parents.
  11. Interested in earning Silver Cord hours?  The Colorado Fall Festival is looking for volunteers to help with games and activities for families on Friday, Oct. 10 from 4:40-8:30 PM.  If interested in volunteering, please email Heather Noll at noll@mcsdonline.org or text 563.260.8251 (please leave a name and number where you can be reached).
  12. Class of 2015, If you are a student athlete who plans or has the potential to participate in athletics in college at the Division 1, Division 2, or NAIA level, please make an appointment to meet with Mr. Welsch in the next few weeks to make sure that you meet the NCAA Clearinghouse requirements.  It is important to note that some of these requirements differ from MHS graduation requirements and must be met in order to participate in athletics at the Division 1, Division 2 and NAIA levels.
  13. Blood Drive – Key Club will hold a Blood Drive on November 10. We will send more information when it becomes available.
  14. HOMECOMING GUEST LETTER Homecoming guest letters are available in the Assistant Principals office.  Anyone inviting a high school guest or graduated guest (under 21)  from out of town must have a guest letter signed and approved.
  15. Football Parents – If you would like to be added to the Football Emails please contact Tia at tmcgriff@machlink.com
  16. Please remember that Muscatine High School sport schedules can be found at http://www.muscatine.k12.ia.us/mhs/calendar  Our website offers the most current updates and driving directions for all MHS athletic events! Be sure to check it out! Good luck to all the teams competing during the fall season!
  17. October 14 – 9(G)/10/Varsity Volleyball Dav. North has been rescheduled to October 13 @ Dav. North (date change due to Dav. North’s request). The 9th grade game will begin at 4:30, with the sophomore and varsity games to follow.

September 26 – Sophomores will place ring orders during lunch in the commons hallway

November 18 – Seniors report to auditorium 10:10 on November 18 for Graduation information.

November 25 – Jostens will be here to take orders in the commons hallway during lunch.
