  • Apply for MHS Student Council Online Today!  Applications are due Friday, April 22 by 3:31PM. MHS Student Council Application
  • The Genesis Adventures in Nursing Summer Camp (GAIN) will be held July 18-22, 2022, for high school students who may be interested in a nursing/healthcare career.  Campers will be introduced to different specialties in health care, and participate in activities such as a mock trauma in the emergency department, a mock childbirth, dissection lab, visit the new surgical suites, visit the simulator lab and learning center, learn first aid and CPR, and so much more! Applicants who have completed 9th grade through 2022 high school graduation are invited to register for GAIN camp.

  • DUE TODAY, APRIL 1st! PROM/CAPE GUEST FORMS: Juniors & Seniors: Prom/CAPE guests from another school must be at least a  junior or senior, or a previous graduate under the age of 21. Those attending as a guest will need to complete the Prom/CAPE Guest Registration Form.  Forms are available in the Asst. Principal’s Office – see Mrs. Chatfield.  Forms are due April 1, 2022.
  • Seniors: On Monday, April 4 during Muskie Time, there will be a Senior Class Meeting in the Auditorium.
  • Prom Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, April 4, 2022 in front of Student Services during lunch hours. Cost per ticket is $20.

  • Any MHS Seniors who have donated blood at least 6 times are eligible for the IMPACT Award (formerly called the Gallon Grad Award) at graduation. Email Mrs. Keltner (jen.keltner@mcsdonline.org) if you believe you are eligible for this award or if you have any questions! 
  • Senior Decision Day: Seniors – You are invited to share your post secondary decision with MHS and our community on Friday, April 22nd in the MHS Library. This is a fun event that gives you a chance to share your plans for life after MHS!
    If you would like to participate, please complete the form that was emailed to you on March 28 and upload your letter of acceptance, enlistment, or commitment no later than Friday, April 8th. We are celebrating ALL post secondary decisions and we look forward to sharing them with our community!
  • MHS Drama Department will present the musical  NEWSIES! on April 21, 22 & 23!  Shows are Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 7:00 pm, and Saturday at 2:00 pm.  Performances are held in the MHS Auditorium.  Plan now to join us for this very entertaining, family-friendly show!  Based on the Disney movie, NEWSIES! tells the story of the newsboys strike of 1899 in New York, when kids stood up to powerful newspaper moguls, demanding fair treatment and leading the way toward the eventual creation of child labor laws in America.  Tickets go on sale March 31st via the online box office:  Muscatine Hs.booktix.com  All seats are only $8 when purchased in advance, online!  Online box office is open up to 15 minutes prior to the start of each performance.   Tickets are $10 if purchased at the door, day of show.  Please note that we cannot accept any passes for this event.  
  • REMINDER! Senior financial obligations are posted outside of the Athletics and Activities Office by student number. These obligations include all outstanding financial obligations to date. Any unreturned supplies or equipment before the end of the year could result in a higher obligation. Senior obligations need to be paid at the Attendance Office prior to graduation in order for students to participate in the graduation ceremony. If the obligations are a burden to your family or if you have any questions, please contact Wendi Schmelzer at (563) 263-7223 ext. 1012 to discuss payment arrangements.

  • MHS Colorguard: If you are interested in MHS Colorguard we will have four mini sessions where you can try out the equipment and learn short routines.  You are welcome to come to one or all four sessions. They will be held every Thursday in April from 7pm to 8:15pm at the First Baptist Church’s Gym, 3003 Mulberry Ave.  This is a great chance to try out colorguard to see if you would like to become part of the team.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Carolyn Hurlbut at carolyn.hurlbut@mcsdonline.org.

  • FREE PROM FORMAL WEAR! Juniors & Seniors: FREE Prom formal wear (dresses-long & short, shoes, pants, shirts, suit coats) are available.   • PROM – Juniors & Seniors: April 30, 2022 at The Merrill Hotel, 8-11PM.  Outside guests will be allowed!  All Guests must be at least a  junior or senior, or a previous graduate under the age of 21. Those attending as a guest will need to complete the Prom/CAPE Guest Registration Form.  Forms are available in the Asst. Principal’s Office – see Mrs. Chatfield.  Forms are due April 1, 2022.
  • Carnival After Prom Extravaganza (C.A.P.E.) – Juniors & Seniors: This year, C.A.P.E. will be held after prom from 12:00AM-3:00AM May 1st at Muscatine High School. C.A.P.E. provides an evening of fun after the dance with a variety of games and activities such as Casino Games, Bungee Run, Human Soccer Balls, Adrenaline Rush Obstacle Course, Bingo, Air Brush Artist, Photo Booth, unlimited food and GREAT PRIZES! Students can attend C.A.P.E. even if they choose not to attend the dance. Security will be provided. This is a FREE event!  C.A.P.E. tickets are FREE and will be available at a later date.  Please watch the announcements for when and where they will be available!
  • Key Club Blood Drive: Any MHS Students or Staff interested in donating blood on Friday, April 1st 2022 need to sign-up with a Key Club member or email Mrs. Keltner at jen.keltner@mcsdonline.org. Walk-ins will NOT be taken for this blood drive – all donors need to have a scheduled time between 8:00am-12:00noon in the Van Hecke Center Gym.  All donors and volunteers are required to wear a mask while at the blood drive.

  • Google Classroom: All high school staff use Google Classroom to display assigned work. If your child is missing from school, they can always access their work via Google Classroom. As a parent/guardian, you can request your student’s teachers to add you to their assignment list so that you will have “View Only” access. 
  • Meal Viewer Link Students & Parents can look at the menus online for MHS. There is nutrient information as well as allergen information. There is also an app available for cell phones.

  • REMINDER! Seniors – Post Graduation Senior Survey:  This is just a friendly reminder that in order to pick up your cap and gown, you will need to complete the Senior Survey (Post Graduation) in PowerSchool. This is a survey that the State of Iowa requires and it will not take you very long to complete it. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Mauck.
  • Seniors who are or intend to attend Muscatine Community College next year: MCC Foundation is extending the MCC scholarship deadline for students planning to attend Muscatine Community College in the 2022-2023 academic year. In addition to new applicants, students who started an application for the March 1 deadline, will be able to complete and submit their original application. Applications can be submitted now through August 1, 2022.  Awards will be made as completed applications are received and funds are available. Apply at:  www.eicc.edu/scholarships

  • Athletic Punch Pass/Card for adults are $40 and can be purchased at the MHS Attendance Center or at the gate during events. This Punch Card allows you 10 admissions into all sporting events except regional & state competitions, most vocal, orchestra, and band events, and the fall drama production.
  • Student Activity Passes are available for sale at the Attendance Center for $50. This pass allows you admission into all sporting events except regional & state competitions, most vocal, orchestra, and band events, and the fall drama production.

  • Silver Cord Form:  Students recording hours of volunteer service during their years at MHS will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear at graduation. In order for volunteer hours to count towards a Silver Cord, STUDENTS must complete the online form to verify. Silver Cord Form
  • ALL STUDENTS DRIVING TO SCHOOL: ALL students driving to school will need to complete a Vehicle Registration Form for a new MHS Parking Tag.  This parking tag will be used for until the Class of 2025 graduates.  The form is available online Vehicle Registration Form, MHS Attendance or Student Services office. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Services office. Students with a new MHS Parking can park in the Bonnie Dr. or Cedar St. parking lots.
  • DOT Minor School License Form: DOT Minor School License Form Forms are available in the MHS Main Office – Rm-11-001. (You must have completed Driver’s Ed in order to submit this form.)  Instructions: Please complete Sections 1 and 3. (Leave Section 2 blank) and return to the Main Office.

  • Volunteers are wanted to tutor/mentor Ms. Nietfeldt’s 5th grade students at Mulberry Elementary in various types of class work.   • Lutheran Living is looking for volunteers. If interested or for more information, please contact Taylor Carey-Murdock at TCarey-Murdock@lutheran-living.org or at (563) 272-2124.
  • Rebuild Together Muscatine County is looking for volunteers to assist in building wheelchair ramps for our community for those people who put in an application. We build these ramps in sections and all sections are pre-built in our shop.  Today we have quite the backlog of ramps, and in such, we could use help on building ramp sections.  No skill level is needed as we will take any student and certainly guide them through the process keeping safety as a top-priority.  We will provide the tools, the materials, and the instructions.  It would be ideal if we were to set this up 4 students at a time, and we are flexible on day/time availability.       *160 hours are required for students graduating in the Class of 2024.

  • Yearbooks: If you would like to purchase an MHS 2020-21 yearbook, cost is $56.
  • Did you or someone you know attend Muscatine High School during the 2012 through 2015 school years? If so, this is your chance to purchase a yearbook that reflects those school years and memories! Each yearbook is $20 until sold out. All proceeds go back into the Yearbook Club to purchase new equipment and expand the program for students. To purchase, call the Activities Office at Muscatine High School at (563) 263-6141 and ask for Mindy.
