JUNIOR & SENIORS – Are you planning on bringing a guest to Prom or CAPE? Guest forms are now available in the AP office (12-001). Guest forms need to be filled out and returned by April 13, 2017. These forms are required for out of town guests or MHS graduates. All guests must be at least a Junior or Senior and be 20 years old or under in order for consideration. (Prom is on April 22nd.)

JUNIOR & SENIORS – Prom tickets will be on sale starting April 10th during lunch outside of student services. Tickets will be $20.00. If a student wishes to bring an outside guest, they need to see Mrs. Chatfield in the AP office (rm 12-001) for a Guest Form. All outside members must be approved before a ticket for the guest can be purchased.

Spring Musical Tickets on Sale Now! MHS Drama proudly presents “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, a musical comedy filled with tap dancing flappers, dashing men and a dragon-lady villainess that audiences love to hate. Join us for a trip back to New York City circa 1922! Performances will be held in the MHS Auditorium on April 27 & 28 at 7 pm, and April 29 at both 2 and 7 pm. Reserve your seats now!   • Boys’ Soccer Venue Change – The boys’ soccer game on April 7th at Davenport North has been moved to Brady St. Stadium. Soph game will begin at 5:30 pm with Varsity to follow.
  • Spring Cleaning for a Cause! This year MHS is sending 10 Honors English students to Europe to learn about history, literature, and culture. We are thrilled to be providing this opportunity for our students! To help offset the cost of the trip, our group is hosting a garage sale. If you’ve been spring cleaning and want to get rid of items you’re no longer using, please drop off your donated items to the MHS cafeteria Friday, April 7th from 5-8pm. Please price your items. If you’re looking to purchase some new things for your home, please come Saturday, April 8th from 7am-1pm to make your contributions to this educational experience.
  • Muskie Soccer Classic Tournament T-Shirts for sale – $15. Muskie Classic Tournament Shirt Orders can be made online at or if paying by cash/check see Mrs. Borde in rm 11-001. There are a limited number of sizes available so get yours today!
  • The last day for Seniors to turn in silver cord hours is May 9th. If you need to see your hours please check with Mrs. Meeker or Ms. Ford in the Student Service Office.
  • The City of Muscatine is still in need of lifeguards for the summer. Starting pay is $8.25 per hour. Anyone interested can contact me or go to for an application.
  • Senior Resources is looking for chore workers to mow lawns for seniors. We pay $10/hour. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Contact Angela at 563-263-7292 if interested. Senior Resources Chore Workers
  • Boys’ Tennis – The boy’s tennis match which was postponed on April 3rd has been rescheduled for April 11th. The Muskies will host Ft. Madison at 4 pm on April 11th.
  • Senior Student-Athletes – The Activities Department will hold the annual College Commitment Ceremony on April 12th from 12:00 to 12:45 in MHS Auditorium. This is for all senior student-athlete who are committing to participate in athletics after high school graduation regardless of scholarship offer or previously signing a commitment letter. If you plan to attend, please email me the below information by April 8th to receive further details.

    • Any significant individual/team high school athletic accomplishments
    • Schools you were formally recruited. If you were not formally recruited, what schools did you consider.

  • Environmental Club will be meeting Friday, April 7, in room 12-005, second half of lunch.
  • Seniors – Any seniors who had Mrs. Walker their freshmen year (English 9) can come pick up their Time Capsules in room 21-024.
  • FCA – The FCA Spring Bags Tourney is set for this Sunday, April 9 at 2 pm at the Orvis house. We will also have our regularly scheduled Wednesday meeting at noon in room 228. See you there!
  • Girls and Boys Soccer Players – Soccer Work Day forms are past due and should be turned into CJ Joseph (boys’ soccer) or Regan Brisker (girls’ soccer). All players are expected to participate in this event on April 30. If you need a form, see Mrs. Borde in room 11-001.
  • Seniors – If you are a senior who had Mrs. Cantrell for freshman year, stop by room 22-0016 (also known as 212) to pick up your time capsule.
  • MCC Bridge Orientation Dates – Spring 2017 – Please contact MCC at 563-288-6001 to schedule your orientation. See attachment for available dates/times.

    • 6:00-7:00 PM – Financial Aid Presentation – 11th Grade
    • 7:00-8:00 PM – College Planning – 10th & 11th Grade
  • Attention Current MHS Parents & Future MHS Parents – MHS Booster Club is looking for a few energetic & committed parents to join us for the 2017/2018 school year! Did you know that the MHS Booster Club represents and supports over 65 high school clubs, activities, and sports? We hold a meeting once a month at the high school & also help with concessions and other great school sponsored activities. It’s a great way to connect, meet new parents & get involved! If interested in learning more you can contact MHS Booster parents; Carol Reynolds or Joni Kerr We’re inviting potential new members to our April 12th meeting at 6:30 pm in the Muscatine High School Commons. Come see what we’re about!

  • Freshman and Sophomores – Student Council is looking for help during prom! If you would like to help with coat check or serving punch on April 22nd from 9-12 pm please email Meghan Custis at for more information or to sign up.
  • Jefferson’s Family Science Night on Wednesday, April 26th. Volunteers are needed from 4:30 to 7:30 in the Jefferson Commons to help students and families experiment with science. Please contact Stephanie Zillig at if you are interested.
  • Jefferson Carnival– We are looking for volunteers on April 28 from 4:15-7:15 pm. Volunteers will help run games, sell tickets, sell food, hand out prizes, etc. Please contact Sarah Manjoine at if interested.
