- Winter Ball – Saturday, Jan. 14th at MHS, 9-11 pm. Tickets will go on sale in front of Student Services starting Jan. 9th. Tickets are $5 each and dress is semi-formal.
- Seniors – Senior Yearbook Picture Proofs – Please check your email dated Dec. 20th from Katie Brown. The attachment in the email are the proofs for the senior portrait pages for the yearbook. Please find the pdf that your name would be on and open it to view both pages. Just a reminder that it is our policy that we do not put in 5th-year seniors or transition students. If there is a change that needs to be made, please contact me by email with the change by January 6th.

- Key Club – Our next meeting is THIS Friday, January 6th at 7:30 am in the Auditorium. Bring a friend and your calendar — there will be lots of great opportunities to make a difference this semester!

- New Silver Cord Opportunity – see Silver Cord section below (Show Choir Invitational).
- FFA meeting Thursday, January 5th at Noon in the Ag rooms- Come to vote on shirt design, and sign up for Projects and Contest.
- Softball Meeting – There will be a softball meeting on Thursday, January 5th in room 11-022 (Stoltzfus) during second half of lunch. This is an informational meeting. If you are planning on playing softball this summer, you need to attend. If you have any questions, contact coach Stoltzfus.
FCA – Welcome back! We will meet on Wednesday, January 4th over the lunch hour. Our meeting location has changed to the multi-purpose classroom (old room 228) upstairs. There will be pizza and trivia. See you there!
Juniors & Seniors – Study Hall Exemption Forms for 2nd Semester can be picked up in the Asst. Principal’s Office from Mrs. Chatfield. Forms need to be completed/turned in by Jan. 5th. A form will need to be completed even if a form was filled out for 1st Semester. Study Hall Exemption Form – 2nd Semester
- Student Council will be opening its doors to new members in February. If you are interested in being on Student Council, you’re invited to observe meetings the week of January 2nd and 9th. Stay tuned for applications!
** Silver Cord Opportunities **
- The Show Choir Invitational is coming up on Saturday, January 14, 2017. (There will also be setup help needed on Friday evening, January 13, 2017) There are many areas where we need help. Concessions (selling food items, cleaning tables, preparing food, etc.) and Security ( monitoring halls and the auditorium to help keep things in line) are the biggest need currently. There may be other areas that we need help as the event gets closer. The shifts will be various times according to each area. Please indicate what time of day you will be able to work and which day(s). Please contact Gail Ryan 563-299-8760 or mgryan2@msn.com as soon as you can so we can get you on a committee.
- Grant Elementary is looking for volunteers to help at the Grant Carnival on Friday, February 24. The carnival is from 5:00-7:00pm. Volunteers need to arrive at Grant at 4:30pm for instructions. We need 20-25 volunteers. Please contact Jaimie Caffery, Grant principal at jaimie.caffery@mcsdonline.org if you are interested.
- The Y Youth Sports is looking for volunteers for basketball and soccer seasons. Depending on your interests you’d be able to be a coach, referee, or scorekeeper. Typical volunteer days are Saturday mornings during each six-week season. Volunteers must have an interest in sports or to work with kids.
