Spring MHS Parent / Teacher Walk-in Conferences
March 6 – 4:00 – 7:15 pm
March 8 – 4:00 – 7:15 pm
March 9 – 1:45 – 3:45 pm (2-Hour Early Dismissal)
March 10 – NO SCHOOL

• Seniors – Senior Scholarship Packets are due March 3 by 4:00 pm to Student Services. Late packets will not be accepted.
• Boys and Girls Parent/Player Soccer Meeting – March 5, 2017. There will a boy’s soccer parent/player meeting on March 5th at 4:00 pm in the Commons. The girl’s parent/player meeting will be on March 5th at 5:30 pm in the Commons.
• Girls’ Soccer Open Gym/Meeting – The open gym is canceled for Sunday due to the player/parent meeting at 5:30 pm.
• ASL Club will be having club pictures taken immediately after school on Tuesday, March 7th in room 11-021 in the math wing.
• If you have thought about joining the MHS Choirs, now is your chance to sign up and/or audition. Auditions for our A Cappella and Treble Choirs have begun and will continue until Spring Break. Please email jonathan.ryan@mcsdonline.org or teale.burford@mcsdonline.org to schedule an audition time or with any questions. Interested students do not need to be in choir currently or have anything prepared for the auditions. If you wish to join choir, but do not want to audition, please inform your counselor that you would like to sign up for 3rd period Concert Choir.

• Muscatine Parks and Recreation Job Fair – The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a seasonal job fair on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course. The job fair is for those interested in positions relating to Park Maintenance, Aquatic Center, Municipal Golf Course Maintenance, Club House, Soccer Complex, Kent Stein, Marina Boat Dock, Greenwood Cemetery, Office work, and Program Instructors and Aids. Seasonal employment applications will be available to at the job fair. You can also download a seasonal employment application, at http://www.muscatineiowa.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/857 or one may be picked up in the Human Resources Department on the first floor of City Hall, 215 Sycamore Street, Muscatine. Please bring your completed seasonal employment application with you or complete on at the job fair. If you have any questions, please call the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at 563-263-0241.
  
• Talent Show – MHS Key Club and UNICEF Club will be hosting a Talent Show on Thursday, March 9th from 8:30-10:30 am in the auditorium. Tickets need to be purchased in advance and will be sold outside of Student Services during lunch March 6th-8th for $5 each. Proceeds from the show will be donated to the United Nations Children’s Fund and March of Dimes. Students who attend the show will be excused from class.
• Spring Wrestling Club – Beginning Wednesday, March 1st, there will be open mat every day after school 3:45-4:45 pm except March 6, 8, 9 because of conferences.  Beginning Monday, March 20th, there will be open mat every Monday night 6:00-7:30 pm on the following 10 dates: March 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22.
• Muscatine Cheer Program is holding their 2017 fall tryouts on Sunday, April 2nd for all current 8th – 11th graders. Packets can be picked up at the Attendance Office starting March 2nd. There will be tryout clinics on March 14th, 16th, 21st, & 23rd. Tryout practices will be held on March 28th & 30th. • FFA District competition will take place at MHS on Saturday, March 4th starting at 8:30 a.m.
• Muskie Supporters – CAPE (Carnival After Prom Extravaganza) – It’s not too late to VOLUNTEER or DONATE to CAPE – April 23, 2017 2017 CAPE VOLUNTEERS / DONATIONS
  CAPE is a free, safe & fun after prom event for juniors and seniors.

• McKinley Carnival – We need students to help run the school carnival games at McKinley School on Saturday, April 1st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
