** Summer AP Assignments **

  • 2018-2019 AP Literature students please stop by Mr. Guerra’s room​ 21-033, before the end of the year to review the summer homework and join the AP Literature Google Classroom.

** Daily News & Information **

  • Environmental Club will be meeting in room 12-005 (Mrs. Baillie’s room), Friday, May 18, at 12:25(second half of lunch)
  • Girls’ Track: All track girls not competing in the state meet should turn in all gear ASAP to Coach Armstrong, Flowers, or Harris. Replacement cost is $150-$200.
  • Yearbooks: If you pre-ordered a yearbook, we will be distributing them today outside the Auditorium (Greenhouse side) starting 5 hour through 7th hour. We will call down seniors first, then juniors, then sophomores, then freshmen. Please check This List before you come down to see if you ordered one. If you are unable to pick up your pre-ordered book, they will be in Attendance starting Thursday morning as well.
  • Yearbooks: If you didn’t order a yearbook but would like to buy one they will be for sale at the Attendance Center starting Thursday morning at 7:45am for $56 on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Seniors – Jostens Graduation Balances: Students that have a balance with their Jostens’ order  pay with cash or money orders on May 25th (Cap & Gown Pick up) or call 1-800-JOSTENS (567-8367) to pay by credit card. Items will not be able to be picked up unless they are paid for. 
  • Seniors: Senior obligations are posted outside of Student Services by student ID#. If you have fees or fines to pay please go to Attendance to pay them by noon on May 25th. For questions regarding fines/fees contact finance at the Board Office at 563-263-7223.
  • TODAY!  Annual Student-Athlete College Commitment Ceremony: Any senior student athlete that intends to compete at the collegiate level next year may take part in our annual student-athlete college commitment ceremony on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 12:10 pm in Muscatine Auditorium. Student-Athletes MUST meet the following criteria to be a part of the ceremony:
  • New Silver Cord Opportunity: See Silver Cord Section below.
  • 4th Annual Muskie Baseball Hit-A-Thon will be on Friday, May 18 at Kent Stein. Gates open at 5:30pm There will be food, games, and prizes! Meet your 2018 Muskies baseball teams!
  • The final Band Concert of the 2017-18 school year will be Friday, May 18th, 2018, at 7pm in the MHS Auditorium. Come celebrate our seniors with us! Admission will be $4/adult, $2/student, $10/family; Activity Passes accepted!
  • May 17 & 18! FFA Plant Sale:  Come and check out the beautiful assortment of flowers and vegetable plants!  FFA Plant Sale Info
  • Pizza Ranch is Hiring! Delivery drivers/Caterers (Must be 18 with clean driving record), Kitchen staff, Front of the house. Day and Night hours available. Applications available at Pizza Ranch or online at or in MHS Student Services.
  • Team Staffing Solutions has summer job opportunities available! Must be 18 years or older to apply. We can help graduated students build their resume and gain professional experience. Apply online at:
  • Summer Employment Opportunity: Corn Detasseling – Must be 14 years old by June 26, 2018. Workers will need to attend a safety meeting June 26th from 5:45-8:00 pm at MCC . Applications are available in the Student Services Office.
  • Junior Tennis Tournament: The Junior Tennis Tournament is scheduled for July 14-15, 2018. The Boys will be playing at the MHS High School Courts and the Girls will be competing at the Weed Park Courts.   • Interested in scheduling a college visit? Go to the website of the college/university you are interested to schedule an individual visit. Stop in the Student Services Office and see Ms. Milani if you have any questions or would like assistance.

** Muskie Pride ** (read the Muscatine Journal for detailed info)

  • Congratulations to the Muskie Girls’ Golf team at the regional meet. Paige Miller was a medalist. The Muskies beat four of nine teams in their region.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **

  • Volunteer Camp Counselors Needed for 4-H Youth: Will be assisting a group of 3 to 5 youth during various day camps. May assist the instructor with setting up the camp or putting supplies away and that is based on the type of camp.   • MCC Harry Potter Festival committee is looking for volunteers on May 19th. They will need volunteers from 9 am to 6 pm. Our plan for volunteers is to divide our festival map into quadrants and divide volunteers accordingly. Areas of assistance needed will be: Some of the things we need assistance in are: greeting people, directing people where they want to go, if necessary helping bands with their stands and equipment, and running activity booths. All of these areas will be supervised by either staff members from the class, or the instructors. If interested, please contact Kayla Leming at (Staff t-shirts will be provided to all volunteers!)
  • MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at if you are interested in volunteering.
