  • Sports Physicals – Palmer Chiropractic College will be at Central Middle School (CMS) on Thursday, May 26 from 2:15 – 4:15 PM.  Cost is $10.  Physicals are available for middle and high school students. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Watson at kathy.watson@mcsdonline.org
  • Girls Cross Country Meeting – There will be a meeting Thursday, May 26 at 6:00 PM in the Cafeteria for any girl interested in cross country.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  Treats may be provided. Contact Coach Armstrong if unable to attend.

  • Wrestling Informational Meeting on Tuesday, May 24th at 6 PM in the Commons. Anyone interested in wrestling next year should attend.
  • Students taking AP Literature in the 2016/2017 school year – Please check your email and stop by Mr. Guerra’s room, 21‐037, before school ends.
  • Students taking AP Biology in the 2016/2017 school year Please stop by Mrs. Coffman’s room 138 to pick up your summer homework.
  • Students – Just a reminder that even though you may be done with your final exams next week, the students and staff at Central and West are still in session, so you will not be able to visit during school hours.

  • Students – If you have medication in the nurse’s office, you need to pick it up before the Summer break.  Medications left in the nurse’s office will be discarded.
  • AP Psychology students in the 2016/2017 school year – There will be a short meeting for students taking AP Psychology, this Friday during 1st part of enrichment. If you are unable to attend please email Mr. Stoltzfus at jason.stoltzfus@mcsdonline.org
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology students in the 2016/2017 school year – Please stop by Mr. Johnson’s room (128) to join next year’s Google Classrooms.  There are a few beneficial assignments that will significantly impact the the beginning of your school year.
  • AP Lang. and Comp. students in the 2016/2017 school year – If you were not able to attend the informational meeting, please email or meet with Mrs. Fallon to obtain necessary information regarding coursework. Email: rachel.fallon@mcsdonline.org
  • AP US History and AP Government students in the 2016/2017 school year – Please stop by Mr. Clancy’s room 11-035 to pick up your summer homework packet.
  • AP Stats students in the 2016/2017 school year – Please stop by Mrs. Hirschfeld’s room AA38 to pick up a book and summer homework.  If you have not picked up and completed your summer homework by the first day of school, then you potentially may be dropped from AP Stats and placed into the regular Stats and Prob class.

  • Students & Parents/Guardians  – Please check your child or children’s outstanding fee/fine balances online at https://ia-muscatine.intouchreceipting.com/ or by contacting your school directly.  Payments can be made online by logging on with your PowerSchool information, in person at MHS or at the Board Office.  Senior balances will be finalized by the end of the business day on Wednesday, May 18th. All other balances will be finalized by the end of the day on Monday, May 30th.

** Scholarships **

The Rove Pest Control Scholarship – Applicants must be attending college by the Fall 2017 semester and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is open to anyone seeking a higher education.  Deadline: December 31, 2016.  Application: Only online applications will be accepted. The NROTC Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship ($180,000) to any university that has an NROTC program. Upon graduating from college, they will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, leading Marines as young 22 year old! NROTC scholarship recipients will be debt free from students loans and have a guaranteed career with starting pay and allowances of up to $60,000! Some nearby schools are Iowa State University, University of Nebraska, University of Illinois, and Marquette University. Please stop in Student Services for more information.

Children’s Cancer Connection Empower Scholarship – Applications for the fall Semester are due May 27, 2016. American Legion Auxiliary – 2016 Iowa Department Merit Award Application.  Deadline is June 1, 2016.  American Legion Auxiliary Application

Iowa Section Professional Golfers’ Association, the Iowa PGA Foundation offers an annual scholarship opportunity in memory on one of its members – Charlie Burkart. This scholarship is open to any graduating senior within our section boundaries and any graduating student of an Iowa high school. It is awarded every year to one recipient. The winner will receive $1000 each year of full-time attendance for four years at a college or university of their choice. Deadline is June 15, 2016.
 
PGA Golf Scholarship

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship:  Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:  A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics & A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of health care. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue a college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.
