Iowa Assessment Testing – We will be giving the Iowa Assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 8th and 9th in the morning. These tests are for 9th, 10th & 11th-grade students ONLY. 12th Grade students DO NOT need to report to school until the 10:22 start time on Nov. 8th & 9th. Any 11th-grade student who currently has an exemption 3rd period will be required to report to the Commons for testing at 8:22 on both days of testing (Nov. 8th & 9th).

- AKOP Jr. – AKOP Jr. meeting scheduled for today has been canceled.
- Students Of Active Prayer (SOAP)will meet from 7:30-9:00 pm on Thursday at 3220 Tipton Road.
- The 2016 Muskie Football Banquet will be Sunday night, November 13th at 6pm. We will meet in the Auditorium, with cake and ice cream to follow down in the Cafeteria. All 2016 Muskie football players in grades 9-12 are expected to attend. Parents are also invited to attend.
- Class of 2017 – Need help completing your college applications? Bring your lunch, laptop,and Social Security # to the Student Services Conference Room during Enrichment TODAY, Wednesday, Nov. 2 to get assistance from MHS Counselors and staff.
- There will be an all-school assembly in the gymnasium TODAY at 3:00 pm to celebrate recent achievements of several of our activity programs. We will recognize the accomplishments of FFA, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Girls Swimming, Forensics, and Cross Country. An intercom announcement will be made to dismiss staff & students to the gym at 3:00 pm. The public is invited to attend.
- Vocal Music Boosters Fundraiser at Panda Express – Nov. 2 (located across highway 61 from Wal-Mart). 20% of all sales will come back to support the MHS Choirs! Each person must have an MHS Choir Flyer with them when ordering. These are available online at www.muscatinevocalmusic.org or by clicking here. There is a 35 person minimum to benefit from this, so if you are going with a friend, spouse, etc. consider paying separately and each presenting a flyer. Thank you for your continued support of the MHS Choir Program!
- FFA Members – There will be a meeting on November 3rd at 12:00pm – 1st part of enrichment or 3:25 pm right after school. Please attend one of the meeting times. Officers will present at each meeting. Please attend if you are interested in finding out more about contest, showing livestock and fruit sales.
- Boys’ Basketball – There will be a player/parent meeting on Monday, November 7th, at 6 pm in the Stan Howe Commons for any boys interested in playing basketball this year. Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 14th at 3:45pm.
- Female Soccer Players – Our indoor open gym times will begin in December on Sundays from 4-6 pm. Please contact Coach Bob at mhs.soccercoach@yahoo.com with your interest to play and also your contact information so you can be kept up to date with other opportunities to play.
- The MHS Drama Department will present Play On!, a comedy-farce on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at 7 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $6 and are available at the door. Box office opens at 6:15. Activity and partner passes are accepted! Plan now to join us! Play On! Poster
- Winterguard will begin on November 5th, 9 am -12 pm, in the West MS old gym. The show this year will be titled “Villains.” Anyone interested in learning about flags, rifles, sabres, and Guard should attend! No experience needed, we will teach you! Bring a friend! If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Heid in the Band room (FA13).
- Girls’ Basketball Parent Meeting – A parent meeting will be held on Nov. 3 from 7:30-8:30 pm in the Commons. All parents of 9-12 girls’ basketball players are encouraged to attend.
- FCA – We will meet at noon on Wednesday in room 11-037. Coach Orvis will bring the Word. There will be pizza. Bring a friend!
- Key Club Blood Drive – Any MHS Students or Staff interested in donating blood on Monday, November 7 or Monday, November 14th needs to sign-up with a Key Club member or email Mrs. Keltner at jen.keltner@mcsdonline.org. Walk-ins will NOT be taken for these blood drives — all donors need to have a scheduled time.
- Exploring Engineering – Wednesday, November 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. Rogalski Center Ballroom at St. Ambrose University

- Ask questions of our admissions counselors about financial aid and applying to college.
