- MHS Wrestling Fundraiser: MHS Wrestling is selling Custom Tumblers through Tuesday, December 5th. If you would like to purchase a tumbler but do not know an MHS wrestler, please contact Coach Kane at joseph.kane@mcsdonline.org. Thank you for supporting MHS Wrestling!
- MHS Band Fundraiser: The Muscatine High School Band’s annual nut fundraiser is underway!
The Koeze products – cashews, mixed nuts, puddles (turtles), chocolate dipped cherries and blueberries, malted milk balls, and milk chocolate raisins – make great holiday gifts for family and friends, grab bags, and wonderful treats for yourself!

The band’s “nut house” at 208 West 2nd Street (inside Pearl Plaza) is open on Tuesday evenings (6-7:30 pm) and Saturdays (10 am-noon) for walk-in purchases. Special order items will be taken until December 2. The nut house will be open this Friday night during the holiday stroll. The last day is Dec. 19! don’t delay – there will
be a very limited selection the last two weeks. If you need a gift for a co-worker, boss, pastor, friend, client, or Aunt Matilda, Koeze products make great presents! They’re also a nice gift for yourself! Funds raised go toward music, instrument purchases and repairs, uniforms, band camp section instructors, marching show-related expenses (props, transportation), honor band registrations, summer music camps, etc. Thank you for considering purchasing Koeze nuts and supporting the Muscatine High School band.
- Key Club: There is a Key Club Meeting this Friday, December 1st at 7:30 am in the Library Cafe (note the change in location). We have A LOT going on in December — come to the meeting to sign-up and make a difference!

- Parking for winter athletics at Pleasant Valley High School: Athletic spectators can park in the west lot or the new PVHS east parking lot off Scott Drive and enter PVHS from Spartan Stadium. Doors W1 and S7 will be open for all athletic spectators.
- LOCATION CHANGE Students of Active Prayer (SOAP) will meet this week from 7:30 – 9:00 @ 707 Sunrise Circle.
- SPRING MUSICAL AUDITIONS: Auditions for the MHS Drama Department’s spring production of CURTAINS will be held Wednesday, 11/29.

- JUNIORS: The Coolidge Scholarship
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study at any accredited U.S. college or university. The main criteria is academic merit. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2019 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (unfortunately current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). The application deadline is January 24, 2018 by 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The scholarship is available at Coolidgescholars.org
- OPERATION WALLACEA: Interested in an exciting opportunity that combines conservation ecology, marine biology, and traveling the world? Consider joining the expedition to South Africa, Summer 2019. The two-week trip includes African safaris, large mammal research, elephant conservation, and dive training. An informational meeting will be held on November 28th at 5 PM (Room 11-017). If you are unable to make the meeting, stop by another time to discuss more information with Mrs. Coffman!

- Girls’ Soccer Sign-up: Any girl interested in playing high school soccer, please sign up in the Athletic Office (rm 11-005).
- Girls’ High School Soccer Open Gyms will start December 3 from 4-6 pm in the main gym.
Open gyms will be December 3, 10, 17. Open gms will start again January 7th and every Sunday after until March 4th which will be the last open gym.
- Have you ever thought “I would like to try that” when you see the color guard spin and toss their flags? Well here is your opportunity!! Join Winter Guard and try it out. We will be meeting Thursday evenings from 7 – 8:15 pm beginning November 30th at 3003 Mulberry Ave in the gym (First Baptist Church Gym). - Volunteers are needed to help with the Muscatine Community YMCA’s Breakfast With Santa: Saturday, December 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, at the Muscatine Mall. Any interested should contact me at the Y, 263-9996, or msteckel@muscatiney.org
- Liberia Rescue Fund International, a non-profit organization in Muscatine, is looking for students to help in the creation of a logo for the organization. We do have some ideas of what we would like involved in the creation of the logo. If interested, please contact Victoria Zarkpah at zarkpahvictoria@gmail.com or at 563-607-0104.
(Liberia Rescue Fund International has been able to assist in different ways, but one of their main objectives is to provide school scholarships to give educational opportunities to children in the area of West Point and Monrovia, Africa.)
