- Food Service Notice: Starting November 27, Student IDs will be required to purchase snacks or meals in any of the Food Service areas (Cafeteria, Library Cafe, Snackers.)
- National Key Club Week: This week we are celebrating National Key Club Week. As part of the MHS community, we encourage ALL STUDENTS to donate to the Student Council Can Drive benefiting MCSA, the Muskie Locker, and the Muscatine Humane Society. Together, we can make an even bigger difference!
- The Muskie Booster Club will be hosting their annual Winter Kick-Off on
Monday, Nov. 20th, starting at 7 pm. A meal consisting of a grilled sandwich, chips, cookie and drink will be served from 5:30-7. Cost is $5 and extra sandwiches can be purchased. Muskie merchandise will also be available and would make great gifts. All are invited to come see the students who will be participating in winter activities, enjoy some good food, and check out our merchandise! Hope to see you there! 2017 Winter Kickoff
- The Muscatine Wrestling Team has apparel for sale by Elitesports. The store is open until Nov. 16 with items delivered by Dec. 3rd. Muscatine Wrestling Team Apparel Store
- Girls’ Track: There will be a meeting for girls interested in track and field, and winter conditioning Thursday, November 9 immediately after school in Mrs. Harris’ room (Miss Sund). Treats will be provided. Can’t attend, contact Coach Harris, or Coach Armstrong. Transportation can be arranged if necessary.

- National Key Club Week: Key Club is a student organization all about focusing on service projects and supporting causes in our community. This week (November 6th‐November 10th) we are celebrating National Key Club Week. We would love if you would come to one of the Key Club meetings and see what it’s all about. Our next meetings are Friday, November 17th, and Friday, December 1st at 7:30 am in the Library Cafe.
- Boys’ Basketball Open Gym: Remaining open gym this week is on Thursday from 7-8:30 pm.
- Wrestling Team Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 9th at 3:45 pm in wrestling room for all students planning to wrestle this season.
- Muskie Baseball Players-Cookie Dough Fundraiser: Just a reminder to all Muskie Baseball players participating in the cookie dough fundraiser that money will be collected on
Monday, November 13 at 6:30 pm at Jefferson Elementary. More info regarding the expected delivery date of cookie dough/cheesecake will be given at that time. If you did not attend the fundraising meeting but would like to participate, you can pick up a cookie dough/cheesecake form in the AD’s office(rm 11-005). Also, those players that sell at least 20 items will be rewarded with a Muskie Baseball cage jacket. If you received a cage jacket last year, you can choose another item from our baseball store of equal value. If you have any questions, please contact edwin.colon@mcsdonline.org.
- Key Club Blood Drive: Any MHS Students or Staff interested in donating blood on Monday, November 13th needs to sign‐up with a Key Club member or email Mrs. Keltner at jen.keltner@mcsdonline.org. Walk‐ins will NOT be taken for this blood drive ‐‐all donors need to have a scheduled time between 8:30am-1:30 pm.
- Senior Pictures Uploaded to Yearbook Website Deadline is Nov. 17 Senior Picture Form
- The Canned Food Drive is underway and ends Thursday, November 16th. Students who bring in 10 canned goods/non-perishable items (this may include cat and dog food for The Humane Society) will be given open campus lunch Friday, November 17th. Students may bring their donations to the Muskie Locker (room 23-005) the second half of lunch. Donations will go to MCSA, The Food Pantry, and/or The Humane Society. Please be generous during this year’s Hunger Drive.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **
- Liberia Rescue Fund International, a non-profit organization in Muscatine, is looking for students to help in the creation of a logo for the organization. We do have some ideas of what we would like involved in the creation of the logo. If interested, please contact Victoria Zarkpah at zarkpahvictoria@gmail.com or at 563-607-0104.
(Liberia Rescue Fund International has been able to assist in different ways, but one of their main objectives is to provide school scholarships to give educational opportunities to children in the area of West Point and Monrovia, Africa.)
- Madison Elementary is looking for 4 students on Monday, December 4th from 6pm-8pm to help backstage during our holiday concert. Any interested student can email Stephanie Zillig at stephanie.zillig@mcsdonline.org
- MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at alisha.eggers@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in volunteering.
