- Change in Tardy Detention Policy:
The following changes will be implemented starting Nov. 1
In an effort to ensure that students are in class learning as often as possible the admin team along with department heads have worked to make the following changes to the sequence of consequences for students who have tardies. Please know that the main goal of changing the tardy detention process was to remove the half day ISS as part of the process. Please also know that we understand the potential academic impact locking a student’s computer can have on a student. Our hope is that students take the three opportunities to serve their tardy consequence before locking their computer becomes an issue. These changes will start on Nov. 1st.
1) Student is tardy/late to class: 20 min detention to be served that day or following day.
2) Student fails to serve detention: 1hr lunch detention
3) Student fails to serve 1hr lunch detention: 2hr after school detention
4) Student fails to serve 2hr after school detention: Computer is locked until they meet with their grade level administrator.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Groteluschen, Asst, Principal at mark.groteluschen@mcsdonline.org
