  • MHS Parent Teacher Conferences: This year the Muscatine High School will be doing fall Parent-Teacher conferences virtually. Remaining Google Meets will take place on:
  • MHS Parent Teacher Conferences: This year the Muscatine High School will be doing fall Parent-Teacher conferences virtually through Google meets. We have developed a site where you will be able to click on the name of the teacher and select a date and time to conference with that teacher. Once you have confirmed your meeting, you will receive a Google Meet link that will be used at the time of the conference. If you prefer an in-person meeting, a form is available on the website for you to fill out and we will be in contact with you in regards to those.   • DUE DATE IS OCT. 30th! Baby Ads for Grads (childhood picture information) – Due Friday, October 30th, 2020.
    Honor your senior with a Baby Ad for Grad (an Auroran tradition!). Each ad is $35.

  • Make-up Picture Day will be on November 10th for ALL students – Virtual & Hybrid starting at 7AM in the MHS Main Gym. (If this is not your scheduled day to attend, you can still come in and get your picture taken.) Please enter through the Swim entrance across from Bonnie St. parking lot if entering the building prior to 7:45AM. Please enter through the Main Entrance if entering the after 8:30AM.
    Pictures can be ordered online at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID: EVT73QW2J.

  • Winter Cheerleading Tryouts: Tryouts for winter cheerleading will be held on November 7th. Tryout packets can be picked up at the Attendance Office. 
  • Muskie Volleyball Regional vs. Dav. West will take place on Thursday, Oct. 22 starting at 7pm. No game day ticket is needed.  No passes will be accepted with it being a Regional competition. Admission is $6.
  • Seniors:  If you haven’t registered to vote, here is a resource for you to register online. Note: You must be 18 years of age by Nov. 3, 2020 in order to register and vote in the Nov. 3rd election. Visit: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterinformation/voterregistration.html  (look for the “box” for Online Voter Registration).  Simply follow the steps to get registered to vote.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Acord in Rm 11-030.
  • MHS Wrestling: Students interested in wrestling this season please email Coach Kane at joseph.kane@mcsdonline.org
  • Any boys interested in trying out for basketball this winter, please contact Coach Windham either through email, john.windham@mcsdonline.org or stopping by Room 23-007 in the Business/ForeignLanguage wing.
  • CanBall 2020! Male Volleyball Tournament in the MHS Gym on Thursday, November 4th starting at 4:00 PM. CanBall 2020 Information
    Teams can have no more than 8 players and 2 coaches. Team forms are available at the Attendance Center. Team forms and payment ($3 or 5 Canned Goods per player/coach) due to Ms. Heimerdinger (Rm 11-028) by 3:30m on Monday, November 2nd. Players and coaches not on the roster cannot be on the gym floor during the tournament.
    Any teams not playing will need to be in the bleachers wearing facing coverings and maintain social distancing.
    Spectators can attend and will need to have face coverings and practice social distancing. Admission at the door is $3 or 5 canned goods. All proceeds will go to MCSA. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Heimerdinger at kenedy.heimerdinger@mcsdonline.org

  • On Thursday, November 5th, ICAN will provide virtual appointments to help senior families complete their FAFSA. Appointments can be made by using this link MHS Virtual FAFSA Completion Night.  Scroll down to the Muscatine High School Event scheduled for November 5th and click to choose an appointment time between 4:00-9:00 pm. Please see or contact Mrs. Hawkins (karey.hawkins@mcsdonline.org) in Student Services with questions.

  • Silver Cord Opportunity: The Food & Nutrition Department is providing a free meal pick up service at Central Middle School on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for families in our community. We need help packing meals and carrying boxes and bags to cars.  Please email schoolmeals@mcsdonline.org for details.
  • Carnival After Prom Extravaganza (CAPE) Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs Needed: We are looking for several parents to fill out our CAPE Committee for this year. Being on the committee requires a commitment of a few meetings, usually in the winter/spring, the day and night of prom, and some extra hours of work on your own getting community support, advertising, shopping for prizes, etc. There are past and present committee members who will help train anyone new, so you are not on your own! You can also recruit friends to help with your area. We have an urgent need for committee chairs this year.  Once again, if we don’t have parent volunteers, our students won’t have CAPE!

  • REMINDER: Students need to log in by 9am in order to be counted Present for the day.  If you log in after 9am, an automated call will go out to your parent/guardian that you are Not Present.  In order to get this cleared, a parent/guardian must contact MHS Attendance at 563-263-6616 to excuse your absence.
  • ACT Academy Test Prep: All students have free access to the ACT Academy test prep online. The link below includes the instructions for log in whether you have or have not logged in in the past. Please contact Mrs. Hawkins with any questions.  ACT Academy Test Prep

  • 2019-20 Yearbooks: If you purchased a 2019-20 yearbook, you can pick it up at the Attendance Center.
  • Did you or someone you know attend Muscatine High School during the 2012 through 2015 school years? If so, this is your chance to purchase a yearbook that reflects those school years and memories! Each yearbook is $20 until sold out. All proceeds go back into the Yearbook Club to purchase new equipment and expand the program for students. To purchase, call the Activities Office at Muscatine High School at (563) 263-6141 and ask for Mindy.

  • Vehicle Registration Form/Parking Tags: If you are a new driver to MHS and do not have an MHS Parking Tag, you will need to pick up & complete a Vehicle Registration Form. Stop in Student Services during the first week of school to pick up the form or print out and return completed Vehicle Registration Form during the first week of school.  Students that have a parking tag from last year will continue to use that parking tag. If you no longer have the parking tag, please stop in the Student Services office.

** Silver Cord Opportunities/Volunteer Opportunities **

  • New Silver Cord Opportunity: Join us in distributing USDA Food Boxes to our community!
    • What: Helping load, deliver, and/or distribute food to those in need
    • When: Saturday, October 24th
    • 8am-10am unloading/loading food
    • 10am-1pm delivering and distributing locally
    • 1pm-4pm distributing to community on-site
    • Where: Crossroads, 1424 Houser St., Muscatine

  • Silver Cord Program:  Students recording hours of volunteer service during their years at MHS will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear at graduation. In order for volunteer hours to count towards a Silver Cord, students must complete the online form to verify. Silver Cord Form
    Service qualifies for Silver Cord recognition if:

    • The student is not paid for the service
    • The student does not receive credit for the service.
    • The service is not for the purpose of fundraising for a group/activity/team that the student participates in.
      *140 hours are required for students in the Class of 2021, 2022 and 2023.
      *160 hours are required for students graduating in the Class of 2024.
