** Homecoming Information **

• Homecoming Spirit Days are as follows:
  • Thursday: “Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Day” (Twin Day)
  • Friday: Gold and Muskie Spirit Day
• Homecoming Dance Tickets: Tickets for the Homecoming Dance, Night at the Oscars, are on sale during lunch outside of Student Services. Tickets are $10.00 per person.
  Last day to purchase dance tickets is Friday, Sept. 15. On Friday, dance tickets will be sold all day long from before school until right after school.
• Homecoming Dance Guest Forms: Any MHS student wanting to bring a non-MHS student to the Homecoming Dance will need to pick up a Guest Form in the AP office (room 12-001); completed guest forms must be faxed back to Mrs. Chatfield by September 14th by 4 pm. You will not be allowed to purchase tickets for your out-of-town guest until the guest form has been completed.
• Homecoming Parade: Begins Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6 pm from Barry St. down Mulberry and into MHS. If you have a club or activity participating, please arrive at Grant Elementary
  by 5:30 pm.
• Homecoming Coronation: Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 pm immediately following the parade in the MHS gym. Student Council will be taking donations for Children’s Cancer Connection at this event; there is no entry fee.
• Football Game: Come out and cheer on your Muskies as they play North Scott!
  Sophmore game kick-off at 5:00 pm and Varsity at 7:15 pm. Admission fee: $6 Adult, $5 Student.
  $1 for every purchased ticket to the MHS Homecoming Game will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Connection.
• Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort at Homecoming Game: The Muscatine High School Cheerleaders will be collecting donations (monetary and items) at the Muskie Homecoming football game this Friday, September 15th from 4 pm – 7 pm at the gates for the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief. All items will be transported by TanTara Transportation to Houston, TX and any monetary donations will be matched by an anonymous donor up to $50,000! Hurricane Harvey Donation List

• UNICEF Club will meet every Friday in Ms. Christensen’s room, 11-006, during the 2nd half of lunch. Learn how you can help children around the world!
• Class Ring orders will be taken by Jostens on Sept. 19 during lunch hour outside of Student Services.

• Friends of the Musser Public Library Book Sale Starts Today! Today kicks off the 5th Annual Book Sale! Friends and Muscatine School District staff are invited to the preview night at no charge, friends memberships are available at the event as well. Donations are aplenty this year and we will have a fantastic amount of books and media! Beauty and her Beast are joining us for meet and greets on Saturday from 10:30 am-11:30 am, bring the family! We are open again Friday and Saturday so come early and stay late! We look forward to seeing all of you there and tell your friends. 100% of proceeds benefit the Children’s Summer Reading Program at the Library.
• There will be no SOAP meeting this week because of Homecoming activities. See you next week at 2702 Surrey Court.
• Class Ring Packets: Anyone interested in ordering a Class Ring can pick up a Class Ring packet in the Student Services office.
• Senior March: Senior March will begin at 11:00 am on Friday. Seniors who have signed up to go on Senior March will meet in the Commons at 11:00 am for a special ceremony, then proceed to the Red Brick Building. Students will be bussed back to the High School at approximately 1:25 pm and should return to their scheduled class at the time of return.
• MCSD Hurricane Harry Relief Effort: Don’t forget to bring items to donate! Boxes at MHS are located across from the Attendance Center. Cash donations can be given to Mrs. Keltner in the Library.   Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort Information
• The library is selling autographed books by our visiting author, Trent Reedy. Order forms are available in the library; orders and money are due Friday, September 22.
• The Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the library starting on Tuesday, Sept 19th. We have some free Magic intro decks while supplies last if you’re interested, but have no cards. See Ben Johns or Shane Palmer if you have any questions.

• Anyone interested in joining the Teen Library Committee: Our first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, September 20th during the second half of lunch in Mrs. Keltner’s office (just off the library). This committee is a great group for anyone who loves to read and wants to help promote the library.
• The yearbook staff has several extra yearbooks from the following school years:  2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2015-2016. If you would like to purchase a copy, we are selling these for $20 (originally $56) What a deal! Please contact Katie Brown at katie.brown@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in buying one.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **

• Youth Sports Foundation (YSF) is looking for students to work the YSF concessions on Sundays. If interested, please contact Jim Miller at 563-288-2541.
• MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 am daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at alisha.eggers@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in volunteering.
