Go Muskies!

  • Environmental Club:  There will be a meeting Friday, January 16 during lunch in Mrs. Baillie’s room (146).​
  • Model UN: There will be a meeting on Friday, January 16 at 7:45 am for students attending the Chicago and New York trips. Please bring your laptops.
  • Mr. Armstrong’s freshmen PE classes will begin swimming on Tuesday, January 20.  Please have suits and towels in preparation to swim.
  • Show Choir Public Premiere  – Come support our Muscatine High School show choirs at the Public Premiere show TONIGHT, January 15th, 2015. They will be performing in the Muscatine High School Auditorium, and admission is a free will donation. The show begins at 7:30 pm with the prep show choir, Encore, and will conclude with the Varsity show choir, River City Rhythm. We hope to see you there!
  • Silver Cord Opportunity – The Muscatine Community YMCA is in need of volunteers for the 21st Annual Try Melon Tri Indoor Triathlon on Sunday, January 25th.  You do not need to be an athlete or be familiar with triathlons in order to help-we will provide training and instructions for all volunteers. We need timers, lap counters, traffic control, and lots of other help to run this event.  Any help is appreciated-earliest starting shifts begin at 10:30 am-latest starting shifts are at 3:30 pm and everything in between.If you are interested in helping out or need more details, please contact Nicole McCleary at the Muscatine Community YMCA 563-263-9996 ornmccleary@muscatiney.org by Wednesday, January 21st.
  • There will be No School for Students on Monday, January 19, 2015 due to a Teacher Professional Development Day.
  • Recycle the Dress Event – Prom 2015 is back for the fourth year!  We have a large selection of dresses and items for prom for any girl going to high school prom in the Muscatine County area to receive at no charge. It is all about reuse and recycling and there is NO COST for this event!  The event is on Saturday, January 31, 2015 – 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Muscatine Recycling Center and Transfer Station , 1000 S.   • Parents of Juniors & Seniors: MHS will be holding a College & Career planning night and Financial Aide night on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.  The meetings will be held at the Muscatine Community School Admin Office. 2900 Mulberry Ave. Times are as follows: 6:00PM will be the Career & College Planning information and 7:00PM will be the Financial Aid Information.  For any questions please call the MHS Student Service Office at 563-263-6141 ext. 1120
  • Silver Cord Opportunity:  Attention high school students.  We need your help in making a difference.  Earn Silver Cord hours by listening to first graders read at Mulberry Elementary School.  Volunteers are needed from 8:30 – 10 am and 10:30 – 11:15 am.  If you can’t stay the entire time, that’s ok.  Volunteer once a week or come everyday, whatever works with your schedule.  For more information, email Mrs. Welsch at lyndsay.welsch@mcsdonline.org
  • Silver Cord Opportunity: The MHS Show Choirs will be hosting the River City Showcase on Saturday, January 17th at Central Middle School. Please contact Mr. Ryan at jonathan.ryan@mcsdonline.org for more details.

Be sure to check it out! Good luck to all the teams competing during the winter season!
  • RESCHEDULED EVENTS:

     Jan. 6 – Soph & Varsity boys basketball vs. Dav. West rescheduled for January 19 at Dav. West High School (soph game at 4:30, varsity game to follow).
    Feb. 9 – 9th G & B Basketball vs. Dav. West will be played at Muscatine High School (9th girls to play at 6:00 PM, 9th boys to play at 7:30 PM). Note location change, please.
