- It’s that time of year again for Interact’s 10th annual Talent Show! If you are interested in participating, auditions will be on Wednesday February 4th after school in the auditorium. The act must be school appropriate and range between 4-5 minutes. The date of the actual Talent Show will be Thursday, February 19th during 1st and 2nd period. If you have any questions please feel free to email Jessica Carlson (carlsonjs@mcsdonline.org).

- Any student signing a National Letter of Intent to be a student athlete for a Division 1 or Division 2 school for Football or Soccer (Mens and Womens) should contact Mr. Werling by Jan. 30th.
- Winter Thaw (Semi-Formal) Dance – Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 9 to 11 pm.
Come in out of the cold and into the Winter Thaw Dance!
This years Winter Thaw, sponsored by MHS Student Council, will be held in the MHS gymnasium. It is open to all MHS students. If you have a non-MHS student attending as a guest, please pick up a Guest Letter from the Asst. Principal’s office. Guest letters need to be returned to the Asst. Principal’s office by Feb. 4th. Letters will not be accepted after Feb. 4th.
- SAVE THE DATE: MHS Prom, Sat., May 2, 9-12 pm. Theme: The Great Gatsby (Roaring 20’s).
- SAVE THE DATE: MHS Graduation, May 24, 2015.
- Muscatine High School will hold a National Letter of Intent Ceremony in the Auditorium from 3:30-4:00PM on Wednesday, Feb 4th. The ceremony is open to anyone including family, friends, and media to attend.Remaining signing dates : 4/15 for All Sports (excluding Basketball, Football, and Soccer for the regular period).If you have questions, please see http://www.nationalletter.org/
- The Muscatine Community YMCA is looking for volunteer refs for the Girls Youth Basketball Games on Saturday mornings each week through Feb. 21st. It is a great way to get volunteer hours for Silver Cord, Scouts or your college applications. Please contact Seth Hood at the YMCA, 263-9996 if you are interested.

** Volunteer / Silver Cord Hours **
- CoderDojo Muscatine is in need of volunteers for their February event from 5:00-8:00p on Monday, February 16th. CoderDojo is a worldwide, volunteer-led, free coding club for kids. CoderDojo Muscatine is our local section aiming to emphasize the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) a fun, collaborative, and high-energy learning environment. There are no technical requirements to volunteer with CoderDojo Muscatine, we will teach you everything you need to know for each event! - The MHS Jazz Choir seeking volunteers for State Jazz Choir @ MHS on Monday, February 9th. We are hosting the event and need volunteers! This is a great opportunity to get NHS, Silver Cord hours, and choir letter points! If you are interested, sign up for a job on the bulletin board outside of the choir room in the Fine Arts wing. Only sign up if you know you are available that day and will attend your shift. All positions are listed and described above the sign up. You will work in shifts and we need several people for some of the jobs. The jobs are as follows: Warm-up Room Attendant, Adjudicator Assistant/Runner, Clinician’s Assistant, Headquarters Host, Go-fer, Host/Guide for a visiting school.
- Madison Elementary school is in need of volunteers for their Winter Carnival on February 20 from approximately 5:00-8:00 pm. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Poppe at jillian.poppe@mcsdonline.org
- Mulberry Elementary – Attention high school students. We need your help in making a difference. Earn Silver Cord hours by listening to first graders read at Mulberry Elementary School. Volunteers are needed from 8:30 – 10 am and 10:30 – 11:15 am. If you can’t stay the entire time, that’s ok. Volunteer once a week or come everyday, whatever works with your schedule.
