- Model UN: Students interested in attending the UNI trip on April 16-17 need to meet in Ms. Hansen’s room today during the 2nd part of lunch.

Key Club: Those interested in volunteering for the Day of Caring on April 10 need to sign the release form in Ms. Hansen’s room.

FCA: The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets in the Commons at 7:00am every-other Monday. Our meetings for the end of the year include: March 23, April 13, April 27, May 11. Follow us @Muskies_FCA for updates.
- If you are interested in joining choir, auditions for Treble Choir (all higher voices – men and women), A Cappella Choir (mixed, men and women) will be the week of March 9th. If you are not currently in choir, no experience is needed! You do not need to prepare anything for us, just email Mrs. Burford (teale.burford@mcsdonline.org) or Mr. Ryan (jonathan.ryan@mcsdonline.org) to set up a time to come talk to us. We are especially in need of more men! If you’ve ever thought about going out for choir, now is your chance! Contact Mrs. Burford or Mr. Ryan with any questions.

March 12th will be the last day to turn forms in to your counselor for Course Selection. All students have been scheduled for at least one appointment. If you were not able to make this appointment, please come to MHS Student Services on a “walk-in” basis during one of the following times to turn your form in:

- MHS Soccer (Girls & Boys) Work Day is scheduled for Sunday, April 26. Please see attached for more information. 2015 Soccer Work Day Information Sheet
- MHS Annual Arc Welding Contest – Saturday, March 28th. Sign-up in Room 159B. Contest is open to any student who has taken Welding at MHS.
- 2015 AP Testing Information – AP Tests can be ordered in the MHS Student Services Office through Wednesday, March 25th. Please see the attached document (Ap Testing) for specific tests, testing dates, and cost. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hawkins.
- Student Athletes – If you are interested in participating in a spring sport at MHS, now is the time to turn in the needed paperwork! Please stop by the A.D. Office at your earliest convenience to make sure you are ready to practice when the season begins.

** Volunteer / Silver Cord Hours **
- McKinley Elementary is having their Spring Carnival on Saturday, March 28 and is in need of students to help from 11 AM – 2 PM. Please contact Cheryl Frisbie at cfrisbie@machlink.com if interested.
- Silver Cord Opportunity – Kick Butts Day (a national movement against tobacco use) is March 18th. New Horizons is hosting a “Billions of Butts” event that day where groups/teams get together for a shared goal of cleaning cigarette butt litter from an outside area that they care about. Students Against Destructive Decisions will be cleaning up the High School grounds. Other school groups or individuals are welcome to build their own team and focus on parks, downtown, churches, etc. Each team will receive a team packet with supplies and information for them. New Horizons will be collecting the litter found for future displays on cigarette litter, checking on teams and taking event day pictures, and awarding prizes/certificates to participants. Silver cord hours will be given to high school teams that are involved. Contact Mandy Moody at New Horizons for team packets, 563-264-9409. Have fun and Make a Difference!

** Scholarship Information **
- The Catholic Daughters Scholarship is available in the Student Service Office. Deadline is April 17, 2015.
- The 2015 Golf Association Foundation Ann Griffel and Herman Sani Scholarship applications are now available. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities. Completed applications (Griffel & Sani) must be received by Friday, March 13, 2015.
ANN GRIFFEL SCHOLARSHIP
The IGAF awards $2,000 Ann Griffel Scholarships to Iowa high school senior girls who have a passion for golf and intend to further their education at an Iowa institution of higher learning, whether a college, university or trade school. Any graduating high school senior and resident of the State of Iowa with experience or background in golf is eligible to apply. Trinity Muscatine Friends Scholarship: There are 3 categories for applicants, each is for $1,000: 1) High School seniors with any major 2) High School Seniors who are dependents of Trinity Muscatine employees–any major 3) Any prior graduate who is studying a health care related field. Applications are available in MHS Student Services, Trinity Muscatine Friends Window Box Gift Shop and Main Lobby/Front Desk.
- Golf Scholarship opportunity:
The Tony Robison Memorial Golf Membership Scholarship is open to all students in grades 8-12. One male and female will be selected. The main criteria is the desire to play golf: not based on grades or financial need. The award is a one year junior golf membership at Geneva Golf and Country Club. Athletic eligibility is not affected. Once awarded, if selected individuals do not use it, it will be re-awarded to another individual. Deadline to apply is April 3, 2015. Applications are available at West Middle School, Central Middle School, Muscatine High School Athletic Office.

- ACACIA Leadership Scholarship for Iowa State University: $1,000 scholarship available to any male high school graduate entering Iowa State University. Should show excellence in academics, extra curricular activities, and community involvement. Application is available in MHS Student Services. Due Date is 3/16/2015
- QC Auto Service and Muscatine Tire and Auto Center: $1,000 and $500 scholarships. More information and applications available at www.qcautoservice.com/scholarship. Due Date is 3/15/2015
- Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative Scholarship: $1,000 and $500 scholarships available to students whose parents or guardians are members of Easter Iowa Light and Power Coop. Visit www.easterniowa.com for the application packet. Due Date is 3/13/2015.
- Donald Kiser Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must plan to pursue studies in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering. Applications are available in MHS Student Services. Due Date is 3/31/2015
- Edward Bitzer–American Legion Unit 27 Scholarship: $500 scholarship. Application is available in MHS Student Services. Due Date is 4/15/2015
- Iowa Section PGA–Charlie Burkart Scholarship: $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year for 4 years). Application is available in MHS Student Services. Due Date is 6/12/2015
