Today is a GOLD Day!
The 8th grade football game on Thursday, October 2nd (Muscatine Purple vs. PV White) will now be played at WMS, and NOT the Muscatine High School football field. Please make a note of the location change.

Parent informational meeting for 8th grade students interested in finding out more about the 8th grade Close Up trip to Washington D.C./Philadelphia scheduled for April12-16, 2015. Cost is $1700. For questions emailmatt.rivera@mcsdonline.org
Lifetouch Picture retakes will be October 14 at 1:00pm in the small gym.

Deadline to register for this season is October 10th. First practice for all swimmers is Monday, October 27.
Library News:
Star Wars Read Week: It will be held September 29-Oct.3. Participants will be giving activity packets and can do a daily scavenger hunt within the building. Students are ONLY to work on activity packets at home or during the day with staff approval. This is an independent program that should not interfere with class assignments!
Scholastic Book Fair: The Library will be hosting the fall book fair from October 13-28. It will be open during from 7:40-4:00 daily and during parent/teacher conferences. Parents and guardians are welcome to shop during the school day after you sign in at the attendance office.

Teen Read Challenge: WMS Library supports Musser Public Library’s “Teen Read Challenge: Turn Dreams Into Reality”. Students can pick up reading logs in the Library. Prizes are given to participants who submit reading logs with minutes read. The levels for prizes are 250 minutes, 500 minutes, 750 minutes, and 1,000 minutes. Reading logs are due on October 22 to Musser Library OR WMS Library. Anyone with 250 minutes or more may attend the “Greater Quad Cities TRC Party” on Friday, October 24th. Musser Library provides bus transportation to the Davenport Library for the party. Muscatine has had the highest attendance at this party for the last 2 years!
For your convenience all athletic and activity events can now be found on the WMS calendar. This one stop convenient calendar will make it easy for staff, students and parents to access dates and times for all activities. Just click on the “School Calendar” tab at the top right.
The Attendance Office has purple NIKE athletic bags for sale for $30.00. Stop by to take a look.
