Tomorrow, Thursday, October 19 is the Orchestra Concert.  It is at 6:30pm in the Large Gym.  Students need to arrive at 6:00pm and should wear a costume, or something nice.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Attention all WMS students: The Middle School musical this year is “Annie Jr.” Students should go to www.muskiechoir.com to sign up for audition times and they can get the audition materials there as well. Auditions are November 7^th in the choir room at 3:30. Call backs will be November 9^th. Auditions are open to anyone 6^th to 8^th grade.

Having a hard time figuring out what you want to do when you grow up?? If so, there is a new club forming just for you! Muscatine Middle School Exploring Club will meet at a different organization or business in Muscatine every month, and Explorers will learn about careers in that field. Parents are responsible for transportation. Tentative Schedule for 2017 (all times 7:00-8:30 unless announced): October 19– Law Enforcement Careers at Muscatine Police Department November 16—Law Careers at the Muscatine County Courthouse December 21—Dentistry Careers at Lifetime Dentistry January 18– Engineering Careers at Stanley February 15—Healthcare Careers at Trinity Hospital March 22—Fire and EMS careers at Muscatine Fire Department April 19—Education Careers and Education Planning at Muscatine Com. College

Students interested in being on the Student Leadership Group need to pick up an application in the guidance office.  Applications must be completed and returned to guidance by Thursday, October 19th.

Muskie Wrestling Club has registration forms in the Attendance office. The club is open to all ages, Pre-K to 8^th grade regardless of experience. Registration for 2017-2018 MWC season will be held at West Middle School Tuesday, October 17^th and Thursday, October 19^th 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

We are doing something new this year.  If you don’t have your yearbook ordered by Winter Break you may not get another chance to order.  So…. If your parents did not pay for a yearbook at registration you need to bring your $16 to the main office and tell Ms. Dee you want a totally awesome yearbook to remember your 6th, 7th or 8th grade year at West Middle School.  If you aren’t sure if you already ordered a yearbook see Ms. Dee or Mr. Yerington and they can tell you.

For your convenience all athletic and activity events can now be found on the WMS calendar.  This one stop convenient calendar will make it easy for staff, students and parents to access dates and times for all activities. Just click on the “School Calendar” tab at the top right.

The Attendance Office has purple NIKE athletic bags for sale for $30.00. Stop by to take a look.
