Last nights game at Bettendorf proved to be a challenge for the West 8th Grade Girls. The A team struggled to get into a rhythm falling to Bettendorf’s Black team 46 to 25. During the B Team game, West had another hard fought battle giving their all. With a final score of 10 to 9 West’s B team earned their first win of the season. Both coaches are very proud of our 8th grade girls. Our next game is at home against North Scott Grey this Thursday.

The 7th grade girls basketball teams played their hearts out but came up short last night in both games vs. Bettendorf. Great defense down to the end of the game by all.  Scoring for West: Rylie Moss 2, Zoey Long 3, Emma Zillig 2, Kyla Fear 3, Alicia Garcia 4

The Muscatine Community YMCA will be hosting a middle school dance on Sat. Nov. 21^st from 7:30-10:30pm.  Tickets are on sale now at the Y for just  $4.00.  If any are left, they will be $5.00 at the door.  DJ, Dancing, Dodgeball, Open Gym, and other contest throughout the evening.  Food will be sold for a nominal fee.  Parent Chaperones are always needed.  Contact Amy Hessel at the YMCA, 263.9996 for more information or to volunteer.

If you’re looking for Muskie Baseball apparel we’ve decided to open an online store similar to what we did last year. The online store will be open starting today until November 29th at midnight. We have items ranging from youth sizes to adult, as well as Muskie Baseball hat and stocking cap. There also is a headband for purchase and it will be in purple (picture looks pink).  Keep in mind that there is a $15 flat rate shipping fee to your home but if you don’t want to pay for shipping you can chose to have all items shipped to me (team coordinator). We will set up a date and pick up location most likely at the high school for individuals to pick up their orders. Items will be delivered about 2-3 weeks after store is closed. MHS Student Council is sponsoring a coat drive November 12 – 19. Help spread the warmth by donating new or gently used coats. The Student Council will have drop boxes located at the following places: Muscatine Chamber of Commerce, Muscatine High School and Muscatine Middle and Elementary Schools. If you are or know a student in need of a coat, please contact Mrs. Thomas at ellie.thomas@mcsdonline.org or 263-6141 ext. 1457 with the student’s coat size, contact info and a small summary of why they are in need of a coat.

Do you like to sing? Do you like to act? Have you ever thought of being in a musical? The West and Central Middle School will be holding tryouts for The Little Mermaid Musical on Monday, November 16^th at West Middle School, Tuesday, November 17^th at Central, Wednesday, November 18^th at West Middle School, and Monday, November 23^rd at Central Middle School. You may get Audition material outside of the Choir Room and sign up for an audition time by going to www.muskiechoir.com
