West Middle School is currently accepting applications for a building aide position.  The position will be responsible supervision of students in the morning, as well as supervision of our alternative education center room.  The hours are 7:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.

If interested, please visit the School Administration Center at 2900 Mulberry and complete the necessary application materials.

The YMCA is hosting a movie night Friday, November 4th, from 6-9pm.  The event is free and open to members and nonmembers. This month the movie is “Star Trek Beyond”. There will also be snacks and soda during the event at no cost.  For more information contact Amy Hessel at the Y

When dropping off students after 7:40 in the morning, please drive to the large gym entrance at the very end of the south parking lot. Dropping them off at other spots in the parking lot is a safety issue and will result in am after-school detention.

Hey! There’s a middle school dodgeball tournament to collect food for the food drive on November 4th! It’s a Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pmin both the large and small gym at West. Admission per player is 4 cans or $2.00 and spectators pay 2 cans or $1.00 each. Sign up in the main office with a team or alone by Tuesday, November 1st. There’s limited room so we are taking six teams from West and six teams from Central with seven players on each team, so the quicker you sign up the better! Be sure to have an appropriate name for your team.

It is that time of year again when the musical will commence. Once again the musical is only open to 7th and 8th Grade students at Central and West.

Auditions will be:

Central- Monday, Nov. 14th and Wednesday, Nov. 16th in the Auditorium

West – Tuesday, Nov. 15th and Monday, Nov. 21st in the West Choir Room

Students interested in doing the musical should go to www.muskiechoir.com for all of the information and to sign up for an audition time. All information is located under the Musical Information page.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know at your earliest convenience at   tristan.tolle@mcsdonline.org . Practices will start on Monday, November 28th at Central Middle School and we will provide transportation for you.

Instructional Time is very important to us at West. We don’t interrupt class time to deliver messages. Our last class of the day begins at 2:42 and ends at 3:21. Beginning October 3rd, messages must be received before 2:30 to assure they will be announced at2:42.

The sixth grade teachers and students would appreciate if everyone could turn in any Box Tops they have been collecting at home: 6th graders can bring their Box Tops to Mrs. Soy or Mrs. Stutzel, and 7th and 8th graders can bring their Box Tops to the main office. Every Box Top counts!

For your convenience all athletic and activity events can now be found on the WMS calendar.  This one stop convenient calendar will make it easy for staff, students and parents to access dates and times for all activities. Just click on the “School Calendar” tab at the top right.

The Attendance Office has purple NIKE athletic bags for sale for $30.00. Stop by to take a look.
