Students, if you would like to participate in the PBIS Minute to Win It games during breaks in the Student/Staff Volleyball game being held this Thursday, please give a SPEAR award (with your first and last name on it) to your homeroom teacher today.  These will be placed in a drawing and the competitors will be chosen.  IF your name is drawn, you AGREE to participate in the Minute to Win It games. There are prizes for those who participate in the games.

We will also be giving away FIVE LARGE PIZZAS from the names entered. You may enter more than once so you get ONE chance with EACH SPEAR award you enter.

If your name is chosen to participate in the competitions, you will be notified on Thursday before the Student/Staff Volleyball game.  You need to be PRESENT on Thursday to win the pizza!

The last day of Homework Club for the school year is Thursday, May 18. I have included a message below that can be included in the announcements.

The last day of Homework Club will be on Thursday, May 18. Mr. Keith, Ms. Matteson, and Ms. Sommer would like to thank those of you who have attended Homework Club this school year, and we hope to have even more students come to our after school program next year!

ATTN 8TH GRADERS: What does invisible poverty look like? Did you know that 50% of people make less than $2000 a year? Did you know that 1 in 9 people didn’t eat breakfast this morning? If you’d like to learn more, a Hunger Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 16th from 7:00-8:30pm in the MHS cafeteria. The Hunger Banquet is a great opportunity to better understand what global poverty looks like first-hand. When you arrive at the event, you’ll find yourself placed in the low-, middle-, or high-class group with a meal that matches your socioeconomic status.
