May 25 – NO SCHOOL – Memorial Day
May 26 – WMS Talent Show 1:30 Lg Gym
May 28 – 8th grade Recognition 10:00am
May 29 – Last day of School – 2 hour early dismissal
For those of you interested in playing tennis this summer, the Great River Tennis club is sponsoring tennis clinics for players ages 5 through 8. More information in the main office.
Deadline to register is May 27.
Musser Public Library invites children, teens, adults and families to visit the library between Saturday, May 16 & Friday, May 22 2015 and start the summer off right with a clear library card. During “FINE FREE WEEK” all fines will be forgiven on returned items, and any lost or missing library cards will be replaced for free in preparation for this year’s Summer Reading Program, “every Hero Has A Story” which begins in June.
If your student has an over-the-counter medication at school, the school nurse will be sending it home with the student during the last week of school. If you prefer to pick the medication up yourself, please call the school and let us know. Any medication left in the building after 5/29/15 will be disposed properly.
ANY 8TH GRADE BOY INTERESTED IN HIGH SCHOOL GOLF THIS FALL NEEDS TO STOP BY MR. RIVERA’S ROOM 10 TO SIGN-UP AND RECEIVE A PACKET. TRY-OUTS ARE AUGUST 10TH AT MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE.
WMS BAND CONCERT –
The West Middle School Bands will hold their last concert of the year Thursday, May 21st at 6:30 pm in the WMS large gym. Students are to report at 6:00 pm and should wear nice clothes. The concert is required attendance for all band students and is part of their grade.
The West Middle School Spring Choir Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at the West Large Gym at 6:00 p.m. Students should arrive and be seated by 5:45 p.m. Students need to dress up in a nice outfit. Show Choir students only please wear your t-shirt, blue jeans, and regular shoes.
LIBRARY NEWS:
The “Buy One Get One Free” Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Library May 7th – 20th! Shop in person OR online at http://goo.gl/CAMH17.
ALL Library books will be returned starting Monday, May 18th for end of the year inventory.
WMS Library encourages summer reading! Check books out over the summer from the Library collection in a new program called “MY SUMMER IS BOOKED!” Participants are required to turn in a parent permission slip. Pick it up in the Library and read, read, read this summer!
The main office has information and registration forms for the 2015 Muscatine High School Summer Boy’s Basketball Camp. Deadline to register is June 26th.
Stop by the main office for info on the 2015 Muskie Football Camp. Camp dates are August 4, 5, 6 2015. Cost is $35.00 for grades 5th – 8th.
Jamie Young, an assistant coach for the 17 time NBA Champion Boston Celtics, will host his 2nd annual Youth Basketball Academy to support the Erika Kate Hope Alliance.

Come join Susan Orvis & the MHS girls Basketball staff & team for the 2015 “Girls Basketball Fundamentals Camp”. This camp is designed for young players, (those entering grades 4 – 8; age groups divided) and will teach the fundamentals and team concept through competitive play and contests. We expect a lot teaching, learning and FUN! A purple and white basketball will be provided to each camper. Cost of the camp is $50.00. Stop by the main office for a registration form.
