A Letter From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Franklin Elementary School and the 2011-2012 school year. This is going to be a very exciting year. If you have driven past our school lately, you have seen that there is a lot happening. We are in the middle of a complete remodel and new construction. A year from now it will not look like the same place. When school began on August 18th, the updated classrooms, kitchen, and restrooms were ready for our students and staff. Over the course of this school year the new construction will be ongoing. This new construction includes a new library, counseling office, main office, two new classrooms plus two more remodeled classrooms, and a new gym roof. We know the construction will make for an interesting and possibly complicated year, but the results will be so worth it. Please keep your eyes open for construction updates especially those that include changes to drop-off and pick-up locations. These notifications will go home with students and be posted on our school website.
Aside from the construction buzz, this will be the second year our students and staff utilize the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to implement The Leader in Me into our daily routine. We will maintain our focus on creating leaders out of every child and finding each individual talent and gift. Furthermore, student learning and growth is always a focal point for our teachers, and Franklin Elementary has a full staff of teachers who accept this challenge with enthusiasm and rigor.
In closing, I want to thank all parents, grandparent, aunts, uncles, siblings, and guardians for your continual support to Franklin Elementary School and the life-long learning of our children. They deserve the best.

Estimados Padres y Guardianes,
Bienvenidos a la escuela de Garfield-Franklin y el ano escolar de 2011-2012. Esto será un año muy emocionante. Si ha conducido por nuestra escuela últimamente, ha visto que hay mucho acontecimiento. Estamos en medio de un completo modela de nuevo y nueva construcción. Un año de ahora no se parecerá al mismo lugar. Cuando la escuela empezó en el 18 de Agosto, las clases actualizadas, la cocina, y los baños estuvieron listos para nuestros estudiantes y personal. Sobre el curso de este año escolar la nueva construcción será progresiva. Esta nueva construcción incluye una nueva biblioteca, la oficina para las consejeras, la oficina de la directora, dos nuevas clases dos clases remodeladas de nuevo, y más un nuevo gimnasio. Sabemos que la construcción causará un año interesante y posiblemente complicado, pero los resultados serán tan valores. Mantenga por favor los ojos abiertos para actualizaciones de construcción especialmente ésos que incluyen los cambios para los que recogen sus niños/as o los que caminan. Estas notificaciones regresarán a casa con estudiantes y son anunciadas en nuestro sitio web de la escuela.
Aparte de los rumores de la construcción, este será el segundo año nuestros estudiantes y personal de utilizar Los 7 Hábitos de la Gente Altamente Efectiva para implementar El Líder en Mí, en nuestra rutina diaria. Vamos a mantener nuestro enfoque en la creación de los líderes de cada niño y la búsqueda de cada talento individual y el regalo. Además, el aprendizaje y el crecimiento es siempre un punto focal para los maestros, y Franklin Elementary tiene una plantilla total de profesores que aceptan este reto con entusiasmo y rigor.
Para terminar, quiero agradecer a todos los padres, abuelos, tías, tíos, hermanos, y tutores por su apoyo continuo a la Escuela Franklin y el aprendizaje de por vida de nuestros hijos. Ellos se merecen lo mejor.
