Kindergarten Registration (2025-26/next school year)
Kindergarten registration for the Muscatine Community School District 2025-26 school year will begin on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Students who currently attend MELC will register this summer along with other returning MCSD students.
Preschool Registration (2025-26/next school year)
Please click the link below to register your student for preschool with the MCSD for the 2025-2026 school year. Students who attended 4-year preschool at MELC do not need to fill out a new student registration form. They will fill out a returning student registration form, which becomes available in July. PreSchool registrations began in January 2025.

Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is the process by which a parent or guardian residing in an Iowa district may enroll their child(ren) into another Iowa school district under the terms and conditions of Iowa Code 282.18 and Iowa Administrative Code 281-17.
Voluntary Transfers
Elementary school students are expected to attend their assigned school building based on their home address. The Voluntary Transfer Form is for parents who want their student to attend a different elementary school within the Muscatine Community School District.
