It is a GOLD Day

 

Today is our first track meet!  It will be from 4-6 at MHS.

 

If you are an 8th grade student that took an Ag class THIS year and are interested in helping with the Kiddie Barnyard.  You must fill out an application in the main office and return it by April 25th. Late Applications will not be accepted.  If you have questions contact Ms. Wiebe.

 

The MHS Cheer Program would like to invite you to tryout for our 2018 Fall Season. Cheer clinics will be held April 17, 19, 24, and 26 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the MHS Gym. We will have tryout practices May 1 & 3rd from 6 pm to 7 pm in the MHS Gym. Tryouts are the morning of May 5th in the MHS Gym. Tryout packets are available outside the attendance office. Attention all 6th-8th Grade Grant School Alumni!! We are seeking out former Grant School  students who are willing to showcase their leadership skills at our Leadership Day on Tuesday, April 17th. If you are interested in sharing how The Leader in Me or any of the 7 Habits have made a positive impact on your life, please email Jessi Freers at jessi.freers@mcsdonline.org for more information and to reserve your spot for that special day. You can also sign up in the main office.

 

Get your tickets for the MHS Spring Musical!  On April 26, 27 & 28 the high school will present Curtains, a musical-comedy-whodunit!  Set in 1959, Curtains follows a Broadway-bound theatre company faced with a sudden setback when the leading lady is murdered — and everyone is a suspect.  As the Boston detective works to solve the case, there are plenty of laughs and big production numbers to enjoy – featuring choreography by Muscatine’s own Benjamin Rivera!  Reserved seats can be ordered in advance using our Ticket Order Form.  Tickets will also be available at the door on show dates:  7 pm April 26, 27 & 28 and 2 pm on April 28. Eighth graders: Interested in making a difference in your school and community? Join MHS Student Council! The 2018/2019 Student Council application packets are available in the Guidance Office for pickup. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Fallon on Wednesday, Apr. 18 at 3:30pm. Please submit completed packets to the Guidance Office to be sent through interoffice mail to the high school. Interviews will be scheduled at a later date. The sixth grade is currently in the lead with 649 Box Tops.  Help your grade win the spring challenge and turn in your Box Tops to your ELA teacher by April 30.

 

Congratulations to Nathan Miller-Brugman and Maddie Fisher for reaching his 6,000 page challenge! Way to go, Nathan and Maddie!

 

Students if you have taken 6th, 7th or 8th grade Ag with Ms. Wiebe and are interested in doing the FFA creed speaking contest please sign up and grab an information sheet in the main office.  There will be a quick meeting in homeroom on Friday or if you have questions please email Ms. Wiebe.

8th grade girls-There will be a meeting in the cafeteria on Thursday, April 19 at 3:00 for any 8th grade girl interested in playing basketball at MHS.

 

PBIS – The cut off date for 4th Quarter PBIS celebration is May 25.  Attendance, grades, and behavior reports will be ran that day to determine if you qualify for an extra incentive on our pool day at the end of the year.
