Dear Washington Bobcat Families,
The school board voted last night to officially close Washington Elementary at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. While this is sad news for all of us Washington Bobcats, the district deemed this a necessary move for the financial future of the school district.

We will be talking to students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade today or tomorrow about the closing of Washington and their move to a new building. Here are some talking points that will be covered and are things that you can follow-up on at home as well:

1) Why Washington is closing
2) Opportunity to visit their new school and grade level teachers before the end of the school year
3) Family night events in April or May
4) Answer general questions they may have about moving buildings

Please also note that a letter will be coming home sometime in the near future, to inform you about your child’s new school, the time for the school visit, parent night, etc. In the meantime, you can click on this link and enter your address to find out which building your student/s will be assigned to for the 2016-2017 school year.
