Welcome to Jefferson School!
Dear Jefferson Elementary Community,
I am so honored to be returning home to Iowa as the new principal of Jefferson Elementary School. It is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to work with such amazing students and staff. I have spent over twenty years in public education near the Denver area as a teacher, a school principal and a district administrator. The experiences I have gained over the years as a school leader have taught me the value of connecting and communicating with the entire school community – students, parents, staff, and community members. I believe in the old African proverb, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” The entire Muscatine community is our “village” at Jefferson Elementary. We look forward to continuing the work of raising student achievement, developing caring and responsible citizens, and making sure that our students are safe both physically and emotionally. We want our students to know that each one of them plays a valuable role in making our community so special. Our students’ brilliance, their voices, their ideas, their cultures, and their talents are what we hope to share with all of you. I look forward to this new venture back in my home state of Iowa, and I am excited to be joining you as a new Jefferson Muskie!
