CMS Parents/Guardians,

We will be holding a middle school informational meeting on September 22 at CMS. We will run the meeting from 5:00 to 6:00pm in our CMS Library. If numbers exceed the library’s capacity, we’ll move the meeting the auditorium. If you will need assistance in getting to the library, due to health-related issues, please let us know in advance so we may help assist you.

The intention of the meeting will be to present CMS building data, talk about our programs, and most importantly answer your questions. We will present information for the first 30 minutes, then offer question and answer time to our parents/guardians for the remaining thirty minutes.

Administration will stay after the 6:00 time, to make sure that every parent has the opportunity to share ideas and have their questions answered. We are looking forward to visiting with you on Monday at 5:00pm.  Mr. Hogenson CMS Principal

*Muscatine Central Middle School would like to provide you with information about an opportunity that will begin on Monday, September 16th, for students who are earning failing grades and will benefit from additional academic support.  sd.

*Any student with a failing grade will be issued a front of the line lunch pass for Lunch Success Time to receive additional academic support during their lunch period.  The student will report to room 113 for a one-week period to receive extra help to improve their grade.  During their lunch period they will concentrate on improving their grade and work one on one with a teacher.  Their grade will be monitored weekly. Once assigned a Lunch Success Time, students will participate for the entire week regardless of the improvement in grade. Failure to report to Lunch Success Time will result in a longer duration of lunchtime without peers, and possible detentions, in-school suspension, loss of school activities and make up time after school until 4:15pm.  (sd.)

Congratulations to the 7th grade PURPLE football team for their 32-6 victory.  They played well in their game against a strong Pleasant Valley white team.  Way to go Muskies!!!!

Don’t forget to bring your box tops to your homeroom teacher by September 28 and help your homeroom take the lead.

Central Middle School Show Choir tryouts will be today September 18th after school from 3:30 to 5:15 pm. in the Choir room.  This is open to students in Choir grades 6th, 7th and 8th.
