Prom and CAPE Info: Guest forms are available in the AP office (room 12-001B). If you plan to bring a guest to Prom or CAPE that is not attending MHS, you will need to have a guest form filled out and approved before you pick up tickets. All guests must be at least a Jr./Sr. or have graduated from high school, and cannot be older than 20 years of age. REMEMBER—CAPE is FREE and you can attend even if you do not go to Prom. If you have questions please see Mrs. Chatfield in the AP office.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **
- Silver Cord hours available for students! Students, faculty, staff, and community, the boy’s track team is in need of workers to help at their home track meet on Monday, April 2nd. Workers will report between 3:45-4:00 P.M. There are a variety of jobs available including field event workers, exchange zone judges, hurdle setters, and result runners. Students, this is an opportunity to earn silver cord hours. If you are willing to help, please contact Coach Rusch (mark.rusch@mcsdonline.org), Coach Foxen, or Coach Truitt.
- Junior Tennis Tournament Committee is looking for volunteers on July 11th following the tournament for court cleanup from 5 pm to 7 pm. A free pizza lunch will be provided for the volunteers work on. To learn more about this tournament and the volunteer opportunities associated with it, go to www.greatrivertennis.com.
- McKinley Elementary is looking for student volunteers to help with our carnival on April the 7th. We are looking for students who are willing to work from 10:30-1:30. This would be helping with carnival games, selling tickets, etc. Volunteers will be provided with free lunch. Please text to Joelle at 260-7122 and let her know if you are interested in this opportunity to earn Silver Cord hours.
- Volunteers are needed for the Girls’ Track Meet – Dick Washburn/Muskie Invitational on March 22nd starting at 3:45 pm. If interested, please contact Coaches Tim Armstrong, Rebecca Harris, or Bill Flowers.
- Volunteers are needed for the Jefferson Carnival on Friday, April 6th from 4:30-7:30. Anyone interested in volunteering can email Sarah Manjoine at sarah.manjoine@mcsdonline.org before the end of March.
- Grant Elementary School is hosting their spring carnival on Friday, March 23rd. We are looking for volunteers to run games, hand out prizes, and more from 4:30-7:30 pm. Free dinner is provided! Please contact Jessi Freers at jessi.freers@mcsdonline.org or 263-7005 if interested.
- Volunteers for Girl Scouts: “Want to help the at risk youth in your area? Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois is looking for volunteers! We are looking for students who want to make a difference in young girls’ lives by providing them with Girl Scout opportunities they might not otherwise have. Currently we are looking for students to help at cookie booths in Muscatine and the QC area as well as Girl Scout programs. - MCC Harry Potter Festival committee is looking for volunteers on May 19th. They will need volunteers from 9 am to 6 pm. Our plan for volunteers is to divide our festival map into quadrants and divide volunteers accordingly. Areas of assistance needed will be: Some of the things we need assistance in are: greeting people, directing people where they want to go, if necessary helping bands with their stands and equipment, and running activity booths. All of these areas will be supervised by either staff members from the class, or the instructors. If interested, please contact Kayla Leming at kaylaleming3@gmail.com. - Volunteer Camp Counselors Needed at ISU Extension & Outreach: Volunteers will assist a group of 3 – 5 youth during various day camps. May assist the instructor with setting up the camp or putting supplies away based on the type of camp. Orientation will be held in early March of 2018 and at that time the volunteers will have the opportunity to pick with days camps that they would like to assist at throughout spring break and summer. - MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at alisha.eggers@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in volunteering.
