** Daily News & Information **

  • STUDENTS: Starting tomorrow, August 29th, The Pool Door entrance will open at 7:15am,
    the MAIN and “BIG M” doors will open at 7:45am.  Door Entry & Entry Times Communication
  • Pep Rally on Friday during Muskie Time! Teachers should lead their class and sit with them during the Pep Rally. 
  • Model UN: For those interested in participating in Model UN or learning more about Model UN, we will have our kickoff meeting on Friday, September 6 during Enrichment in Ms. Hansen’s room (11-024). Bring your computer!
  • As a reminder, there are to be NO cellphones or headphones allowed during class time.
    Please leave your cellphone and headphone in your pocket or bag.
  • Breakfast starts at 7:30am and runs until 8:15am and is available in the Cafeteria or Library Cafeteria.
    Cafeteria – Breakfast Pizza, Breakfast Sandwiches, Muffins, Fruit, etc.
    Library Cafe – Muffins, Breakfast Bars, Chips

  • The Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs will have meetings for students interested in participating on Wednesday 9/4 at the beginning of both lunch segments in
    Ben Johns’s office (13-012A, the office with the window by the Auditorium). The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the commons starting on Thursday 9/5. We have some free Magic intro decks if you’re interested, but have no cards. See Ben Johns or Tyler Wilson if you have any questions.
  • Wrestling open mat workouts available to all MHS students. Mon-Thurs 4-5pm in the wrestling room.
  • MHS Vehicle Registration/Vehicle Tag:  Vehicle Registration Forms & Vehicle Tags can be picked up from the Student Services office.
  • Student IDs can be picked up in Student Services.
  • Girls’ Basketball: There will be an informational pre-season meeting on Thursday, September 5th during Enrichment in Ms. Hansen’s room (11-024). Open gym starts on Thursday, September 5th and runs from 5:30-7:00pm in the main gym.
  • Baseball Player Meeting: Students interested in 2020 summer baseball will meet on Wednesday, August 28th after school for a 20-minute meeting in Coach Pippert’s Room 11-037
    (near the “Big M”).  Fall athletes should not miss practice time and will need to see Coach Pippert to get the information during the day.
  • MHS Picture Day: Sept. 9th starting @ 7am in the MHS Gym.
  • FALL PLAY AUDITIONS – Auditions for the MHS Fall Play, Miss Holmes, will be held in the MHS Auditorium on Wednesday, August 28 from 3:45 – 5:00 and again on Thursday, August 28th from 3:45 – 5:45.  You only need to attend ONE of the audition dates.  Miss Holmes is a mystery/thriller with a witty, modern take on the famous characters by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  All information can be found at the drama website:  Contact Mrs. Mauck with questions:

  • Athletic Forms:  Parent Permission Form    Concussion Form     Physical Form
  • Juniors & Seniors – Study Hall Exemption Forms: Any Junior or Senior wanting to be exempted from Study Hall will need to have an exemption form (attached) signed by their parent/guardian. Students are expected to attend Study Hall until it has been removed from their schedule.  Please bring signed forms to Mrs. Chatfield in room 12-001 and she will get them to your grade level administrator for approval. 2019-20 Study Hall Exemption Form
  • Senior Pictures for the Yearbook: Senior pictures can be uploaded to the Jostens website in November – date to be determined. (Directions will be sent out on the process of uploading pictures at that time.) Please watch announcements for more information!
  • The Muscatine Dance Team are selling Muskie M’s to be painted on driveways!

** Silver Cord Opportunities **

  • McKinley Elementary is looking for high school volunteers who would like Silver cord hours for our Muskie Family Night.  Our Muskie Family Night is September 5th from 5-7pm. We are looking for babysitters. If you are interested please contact Joelle McConnaha 563-260-7122.
  • Mulberry Elementary is looking for some high school volunteers who need silver cord hours for our Muskie Family Night.  Our Muskie Family Night is September 5th from 5-7pm. We are looking for babysitters and students to help serve food. If you are interested please contact Stacy Olson at
  • The MCSD Food & Nutrition Dept. is looking for MHS students to help students at elementary schools with breakfast cards & getting through the serving lines any time from 7-8am during the 2019-2020 school year. If you are interested in helping out & earning silver cord hours starting Friday 8/23, please contact Alisha Eggers at 563-263-7223 or  
  • Volunteers needed for Muskie Family Night at Madison Elementary on Sept. 5th from 5-7:30pm.  Volunteers will be working on crafts and games with students while parents attend learning sessions.  If interested, please email Stephanie Zillig at
