The Muskie Library will have extended hours for finals week!
Sunday, December 18, 4-7 pm
Monday, December 19, 7:30am – 7:00pm
Tuesday, December 20, 7:30am – 7:00pm
Students are encouraged to come use the extra study time to prepare for semester tests or final projects – FREE snacks (brain food) will be served from 5:00-7:00pm every night. And pizza will be available for $1/slice on Sunday. Good Luck, Muskie Nation!

• The Muskie Bands are teaming up with Hy-Vee Food Store, 2400 Second Avenue, for the easiest fundraiser ever! For every purchase made at the Muscatine Hy-Vee Food Store Monday, December 12 through Wednesday, December 14 that is accompanied with the attached slip, Hy-Vee will donate 7% of your total sale to the Muskie Bands! This is a great time to stock up on groceries for holiday cooking and baking needs. If you don’t have time to shop, please consider purchasing a Hy-Vee gift card to use later. Purchases include:
  • Hy-Vee gift cards (or any gift cards)
  • Starbucks
  • Purchases at the Hy-Vee gas station
  • Pharmacy purchases
  • Deli/Restaurant purchases
  • Items purchased at the service counter (postage stamps for your holiday cards and dry cleaning)
  • And of course – groceries!

Please help us spread the word by sharing the attached slip on your social media sites, with neighbors, friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. The more people that present the attached slips (attachment below) during the designated three days, the more money raised to support Muskie Bands! • Cafeteria Notice – Starting today, students must have their Student ID card or cash with them to purchase lunch. No Exceptions. Please stop by the Attendance Center if you need your Student ID or replacement.
• MHS Choirs will have its Winter Concert on Monday, December 12th at 7:30 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Admission will be $4/adult, $2/student. Family $10. All passes accepted.
• Freshmen Girls Basketball Cancellation – December 17th’s freshmen girls basketball tournament at Rockridge has been canceled. Rockridge has canceled their freshmen season and this event.
• The Muskie Band’s annual nut fundraiser is underway! Order cashews, mixed nuts, puddles, and chocolate dipped cherries, toffee almonds, malted milk balls, and other sweet treats now – they make great holiday gifts or a treat for yourself!For a flyer with pictures and prices, or to make a purchase, call 299-8082, email jstogdill@machlink.com, or talk to any of the MHS band students. Walk-ins are welcome at the band’s “nut house” at 1600 Plaza Place. Hours are every Tues. evening from 6-7:30 pm and Sat. morning from 10 am till noon until Dec. 20, so buy now before we run out!

• The Y Youth Sports is looking for volunteers for basketball and soccer seasons. Depending on your interests you’d be able to be a coach, referee, or scorekeeper. Typical volunteer days are Saturday mornings during each six-week season. Volunteers must have an interest in sports or working with kids.
